Hi everyone, It's Carina K again. In the first blog entry I told you a bit about my goals and my main passion, singing. In this one I want to take you behind the scenes and show you what I've done so far.



First of all, I'd like to show you my makeshift studio here in my bedroom. I'm a total Mac girl and the program I'm using is Logic Studio and Reason amongst other great programs. Here's my little friend, my trusty keyboard that I use for writing and practice. It's not the newest but it still does everything that I need it to do. This is where I practice and do some recording and testing before I go into a real studio. I actually recorded my demo tracks here in this room. Hey you gotta do what you gotta do. Since I have just begun working on my first record, I have to reserve studio time so having this equipment at home helps me prepare and be ready to get down to business at the studio and not waste time.

Right after my last podcast, I've been crazy busy. I went to LA and gave out my demos, posters and other promotional material. I had a great time and even got to meet Courtney Cox Arquette. Here's a picture of us in Hollywood. It's a little grainy because it was taken on a camera phone. She's a very nice person. Truly down to earth. I got to see her film scenes for her show 'Dirt'. That was a cool experience.

Then someone in the record industry wanted to meet with me in Las Vegas and so I went there immediately after LA. I had a great time. Soon after I got home, I had an opportunity to go to Europe. I got to meet great people, eat great food, sing a little, and on a fluke met someone from a well known European show in an elevator and now I have some contacts there whom I can reach whenever I get some songs out. I've realized that in this business it's important to be very positive and driven because that's when the pieces fall into place.

Now that I'm home, I've become even more driven and got truly inspired after all those wonderful trips. I wrote more songs and can't wait to get my first single done. Right now the music for the single is in the oven and as soon as something new develops, I will keep you posted. Hopefully I can help you get inspired to follow your dreams, whatever they may be. With a little effort, keep your drive going, stay positive and you can make your dreams happen. It sounds like a cliche but it's absolutely true.
