Current mood:  artistic
Well, its another year and fresh start for painting. I consider 2008 my "portrait" year. Geno, Mega Man X, Zero, Transformers, Chrono Trigger, Super Punch-Out and Death. Thats 34 paintings and I'm pretty tired of just painting faces, hahaha, although I did have one more planned that I never got to and that was Lucas from Mother 3. Maybe I'll get to that some day.

Anyway, on to 2009. 2009 was planned to be my "epic" year. My cars transmission messing up was going to put a halt on that though until I gave my car to my dads mechanic and fixed it for $170 instead of $2000. Hooray for him. Anyway, I have a 16-bit link commissioned painting to do first and after that I will be starting my epic series. I say epic because the painting(s) I have planned has been joked about and actually asked to do for a few years and I kind of scoffed at it like "yeah right, are you insane?" Well, do to some events that happened in 2008, I am insane and it is time to step it up. The first set of paintings will be 3 36x36 paintings stacked on top of each other to make a huge 9 feet tall and 3 feet wide painting. Its from, in my opinion, the greatest RPG from the snes area and the most epic battle ever.

If you have been paying attention, you know what it is already and if you do, don't ruin the surprise. If you dont, well, you might shit your pants when you see it. Granted, this will take AT LEAST 3 months to paint. this painting will be 120,000 pixels which is over triple my biggest piece to date. I'm hoping to start this up by the 3rd or 4th week or january.

Commissions will be put on hold for the most part. Unless of course the economy destroys my job and I'm not working which is a possible scenario.

After the 9 footer is done, I've been flirting with other games such as Super Metroid (will definitely be done), Super Ghouls n Ghosts (will definitely be done), Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World (will definitely be done), Earthbound and Super Mario RPG.

I will also be doing a series of some pretty awesome bead sprites. The Viewtiful Joe sprite can give you an inclination of where thats heading.

So hang tight and get ready for some huge epic paintings that probably no one will be able to afford. hahahaha. If there was a time to go to a Bit Genocide show, it will be this year to see these monsters in person.

Sounds like some great plans!! I am excited to see what you'll produce! Oh, I made some bead sprite ornaments for my friend's xmas tree this year and he loved em.
Made me think of you!

My major project for this year is a 3 ft x 10 ft Super Mario 3 Map painting. Your stuff will be so much more nuts, though.

First I thought the epic painting is about Crono vs. Lavos, but now I think it has sth to do with an enemy who's name sounds a bit like that of a Czech writer...am I right???

You didn't tell me you ended up getting your car fixed for so cheap!! That's wonderful!! And here I've been worrying about you... not even the courtesy to tell me the good news.
;P

Hey, if your painting doesn't sell by 3 years from now, I swear I'll buy it.
:D
