Current mood:  sad
the last hiatus i took, it was because painting started to feel like a job. this time, its for much different reasons.

on may 20th, my dad passed away from a heart attack while riding his motorcycle. painting is and will be the farthest thing from my mind for quite some time.

the 9 foot painting i was working on didnt get much accomplished. the top panel isnt even 1/4th completed, let alone the other 2 panels havent even been gridded out.

i cant say exactly when i will come back. im not going to rush anything. it could be a month like it was last time, or it could be a year.

i will eventually finish the 9 foot tall painting though because it would be what my dad wanted.

i will still be at 64-bit genocide though. so come out and enjoy the show as always. i just wont have as much as a presence there art wise as i did in previous years since i havent painted that many new works since then. i will have another raffle though for paintings since that seemed to make a lot of people happy.

again, thanks to everyone who bought anything off of me ever and i appreciate everyones kind words i get in my inbox on a daily basis.

and if you havent told your mom, dad, sibling or significant other that you loved them today, please do so because there is no guarantee that they will be there tomorrow.
Capt. Castellanos!

i'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
i can't really think of anything to say, but i thought it just felt right to leave something.
just so you can know you'll be in my thoughts.

I lost my dad 19 years ago when I was 6. You are so lucky to have had your dad for 27 years.
And I do tell my mom and my friends I love them! Because you never know...

Take care, and stay inspired.

I'd take May 20th over January 30th, although that'd be sacreligious; neither would be better.

But from your standpoint I know where you're coming from; I lost my mother beginning of this year suddenly and with no warning and I stopped writing. I stopped singing, I was looking to join a band or two, I was going to start dating again. Then I went into a reclusion, and I'm still not out of it all the way. It dampens everything you want to do, there's no doubt. The only reason I push forward right now is because I have to.

Take care man, the paint won't dry and your stuff will still be there when you get back.

It's always terrible to lose someone so close to you and so suddenly. You are a great artist and I tell people about your art on almost a daily basis. Your Geno painting is like the crown jewel in my video game collection.

Take all the time you need man, Me and all your other fans will be here when you get back =]

Cheer up fellow artist.  Its true we cannot control what life brings our way, but the one thing we can do is...endure.  To hear about the loss of your Dad brought back feelings of the loss of mine, who also fell victim to an auto-related accident when I was 15.  He was so loving and caring, and its Dad's like that, that leave the biggest imprints on our lives.  As long as we have that imprint, they will always be with us, and we will never forget them.

Thanks again for my precious painting of Starscream.  I will treasure it always.  Right now its hung over my bed so when I look up, its always there.  Just like your Dad will always be for you.

Man.....I'm sorry about your great loss.I can feel your pain,I had to put my dog too rest earlier this month. It was the hardest moment I've been through in my life. What helps me get through all of the pain is good music....alot of good music & comedy up the ass.You know what!Songs from the Simpsons would be good stuff right about now...I need 2 get on that.I've been playing FF10 & 12 also just trying to keep my mind on something else you know what I'm sayin.I had a few beers the other day but they only made me feel worse, with alcohol being a depressant & all.Just don't linger under the covers 2 long after you wake and stay strong, mang.Peace

My mother passed away the month before I started college and though it was one of the hardest times in my life, I completely credit any and all success I've had as an artist to wanting to make her proud. I totally poured myself into school and art really helped fill the void.
Take your time though. But I can safely say, when you do come back, it will be with a vengeance. Keep it real brotha.
