Another mild day in Ventura.  As much as 100 degree weather makes for fun at the beach, 75 degrees is excellent for wandering downtown Ventura.

One thing we noticed was quite a bit of thrift stores.  If it weren't for all the time we spend playing shows and blogging about ourselves playing shows, our car would be coming back to the bay a whole lot fuller.

Tonight we're playing again in Ventura, then making a beeline for Santa Barbara where we'll be doing a radio show.  It's called "Five Four Three Two... Fun."  With a name like that, it's got to be amazing.

We stayed at one of my sister's houses last night.  My brother-in-law is quite the character.  If you have ever talked with me (Dayv) personally, you'll know how I'll talk your ear off if you let me.  I wonder if my bro-in-law and I aren't somehow related for how similar we are.

For example, for a solid hour, he extolled upon me the virtues of the 99 cent store.  While he convinced me to check out all the 99 cent stores in the bay for maximum quality with maximum savings, he couldn't quite get me to believe that 99 cent watermelons, cantalopes, eggs, and milk was a good idea.

He also took us out to one of the best chinese/japanese buffets I've ever been to.  Unlike most of the ones in the east bay, this buffet's food was not stomach-crampingly greasy, and had an excellent selection of items.  The star was definitely the coconut chicken: deep fried chicken strips dipped in coconut-shaving batter.

Chicken and coconut: a match made in heaven.  Who knew?

They also had a mongolian style cooking area.  Even the sushi was good.  Anyone who's had sushi at a buffet knows what I'm talking about.

LA Buffet.  If you're in the Woodland Hills / Winnetka region, I highly recommend it.

Thanks to the free internet courtesy of the Ventura library, we can now post this backlog of blogs.  I went ahead and back dated the entries to the time that I wrote them.

Using internet at the library can be hilarious.  For example, sitting next to a guy wearing the same blue shorts and shirt we saw him in last night, sporting headphones blaring evangelist preaching and laughing uncontrollably at his internets sites.
