Current mood:quite mad
Category: Writing and Poetry
Sometimes the madness comes
Quite suddenly n' as a matter o' fact
Walks in quite the gentleman
Grins, hand outstretched, bows deeply
Nudges me a wink t'sit beside me, there,
Tells me funny stories, o' this n' that
None significant I guess
Gets a giggle now n' then
As I let the gate swing open, slowly,
Leaves flutter as it slides across the soil
He sits, removes his gloves, sighs
Now we play the day,
Sing songs n' tell our tales
All is man t'man
But then the clouds hover
They take away the sun's breath
Moon weaves through its curtains
The crows circle overhead
It becomes another stranger,
Nods its crooked hat
With Jack the Ripper's flair
It moves too swiftly
A different voice slices silence,
Swish switch swish
Not as nice'
Near as pretty as before
Wants t'knock me up n' down
And doth it dearly
Smack me this n' smack me that
Across the face, enough!
Then eye t'eye we cut our pupils
Sweat doth drip, drip, drip
Puddles here n' there
Stare each other down
When insanity lifts its hand
Then I grasp it, 'round the wrist,
amid clenched teeth squeaking
I will win this tarantella,
With that thought
I will remember who n' why n' where n' how
As all returns a new
Just like that
The shadow drifts into the wind
As I have survived it, barely
The gate slowly shuts,
Ca-clang
I walk the streets, moist n' luminous
Footsteps tic-tock tic-tock
I feel small, insignificant
Back to normal, easy does it then
Best be ready next encounter
When the madness comes
Again
