A few months ago, prior to the Battle ala' Liddell, Wanderlei Silva the resident "Pride" Axe Murder dispelled rumors.  No, he still is considered a serial killer in 15 countries with his infatuation for sickening knees or barbaric hooks, but that he'd considered another move.  This time more of a drop, a weight cut sliding him from his current status at Light Heavy (205lbs) down to Middle Weight (185lbs).  That takes him from the for fronts of a Keith Jardine slug-fest pitting him in the headlights of the currently unstoppable juggernaut Anderson "The Spider" Silvia.  Hmm, let's see.  We can have a tea party with a double fisting Louisville Slugger, or spit java with dual laser sighted hand cannons?  Can you tell where we think you're safer, Wandi?

"If he should drop to middleweight, we will work on his losing weight and preserving his muscle mass, losing only water and fat and not strength and size, since he normally weight 98 kilos. But nothing's for sure yet, we'll wait and see.", Rafael Alejarra Tells Gracie Mag.

Many critics and fans were surprised to see the size advantage the Iceman held over Silva in his last bout.  Obviously, those were knew to seeing the Axemen in the Ufc/Us considering Silva past at 31w and 8 l he holds wins over Dan Henderson, Guy Metzger, and our Current Light Heavyweight Champ (twice).

If Silva does decide to cut the gut and drop it like it's hot, we aren't arguing he'll be a force to reckon with.  Hell, it will sell plenty of tickets.  Yes, the murderer would be great to see pitted against this new breed in the Ufc: Robbie Lawler, Nate Quarry, Pete Sell.  As you climb that ladder the questions rise with each fighter; Rich Franklin, Matt Linland, Dan Henderson.  But, let's just be honest.  If you can't make it past a pre-over the hiller like Liddell.  Then what hopes do you have against a thoroughbred in his prime?
