A man can be inspired
In the last two weeks I have been inspired by a couple of ladies I am very happy to call friends, Kaedy Kiely and Laura Vickers. These two gals opened thier hearts and shared their struggles with friends and allowed the love and suport to come back and help them heal. I was lucky enough to see it happen and it has been eye opening and heart warming to witness. I am a guy who usually prefers to fight alone, but these two wonderful ladies have shown me that family and friends will gladly stand by your side if you need them and that together you fight stronger and more successfully. I thought it was weak to ask for help. These two ladies, and the few others I have confided in, have convinced me that it is just as bad, if not worse, to keep those who love you and want to help you in the dark. Thanks Kaedy & Laura.
So here is the deal. In a nutshell. I need a kidney transplant. I have known for about 9 months and have been doing daily dialysis at home since November '08. I have been to the hospital for transplant evaluation and the medical consensus is that I would be an excellent candidate for success, however the transplant committee is concerned about my abilty to pay. I am a low income patient and therefore before I can get on the transplant list, they require that I set up a medical account and raise $10,000 by October 31, 2009. That's the way the system works.

My family and I live a happy life of music and financial moderation. We have what we need and don't ask for more. But, we don't have $10,000 sitting around and don't know about any generous relatives who do. So after much thought, we humbly reach out to friends.
Don't want to make this too long.
Check out the link. It's all there.
