Maelstrom is back - and we've brought with us a new look myspace page and Maelstrom logo, live dates in Glasgow that promise new materierial, and our long awaited first release "The Shores At Dawn".

It may not be plain to see, but 2008 has been a productive year for Maelstrom. We've stayed out of the public eye in recent months, but rest assured, we have been working quietly behind the scenes - call it a hibernation of sorts.

Firstly, let us explain the situation with "Shores". During the final mixing of the album our recording equipment failed. We were then faced with a long and agonising wait - not knowing if the recordings we had would survive. Eventually (around 6 months later), we had the recordings returned to us intact. The record is now ready for release and some of the finished tracks are on our myspace player.

In the past few months we've been working with Romanian artist Moga Alexandru, who has created an original band logo for us. It took some time, but the final result looks good and it reflects the themes and and ideas in our music - And it's jaggy! :)

Look out for our live performances this year. We'll be appearing alongside Abgott, hailing from London, and Theatres Des Vampires of Italy. We have new material prepared for both shows and the "Shores" LP will be available to buy too!
