Dear Myspace friends

I got back yesterday from a kinda fabulous weekend...
I opened from the beautiful Amanda Palmer at two sold out shows in the Union Chapel, Islington on Friday & Saturday...

For those of you who don't know the Union Chapel, it is a real church, massive and sort of hexagon shape.  It is quite amazing in fact you can see photo's of it here-
Me and Amanda decided a while ago to do some songs together, so I sang a song of Amanda's called Delilah and we also did Puff The Magic Dragon, which she played from the stage and I sang on a balcony above the stage to the right hand side. it was cool, definitely one of the best venues I have ever played in, in terms of atmosphere, and Amanda has a incredibly kind and friendly crowd.

I have met very few Women whilst being on the road, and even fewer who are really in the trenches, so to speak. In a world where a lot of girls in "music" videos  look more like they are in porn films, it was very refreshing & inspiring to watch, and sing with a real musician, writer & performer. You should all check out her music, go to her gigs and buy her Records, you will all love her.

So after the Saturday night show, me and the boys jumped in the back of the van and headed to the 5* luxury £29 a night travel lodge located on a particularly picturesque part of the M3.  We all slept well & had breakfast in a fabulous Michelin star restaurant called "Esso Petrol Station", as we heard they did the best Coffee and packet sandwiches in town!

We then donned our space suit outfits and headed to Bestival !!!!!
And before you ask, I do have photo's, but they are on my friends phone and she hasn't sent them to me yet !  if any of you lot have any please post them for all to see!

The Isle of Wight was fabulous. We stopped off in a little corner shop to buy wine for the van, and they wouldn't serve me, as I had no ID they didn't think I was old enough to buy it!

Luckily my band boys look a bit more "mature" than me, so brought it for me... While I waited outside in my platforms swigging a bottle of white lightning!- Only Joking!

SO as Bestivals theme was "Space Oddity" we joined the fancy dress party (a day late) as Glam-Rock-Space-Cadets!  We rocked bestival's (very wonky) stage!

It was a great gig and thanks to the 15 or so people who got up in Bunny Club and started dancing, by all accounts everyone else was "too knackered" to dance!

To the ones of you who are just a bit more hardcore than the rest, you will remain in the archives of You Tube history from now until forever, you will be known as my "rent a crowed bunny ravers" and I hope you will always be in the front row of my shows!- check out the link below!-

So after we played I went on a Helter Skelter with a 9 year old called Olivia, watched a bit of The Doves, drank a Vodka Passion fruit cocktail and then headed home!

We left my guitarist Rich there though as he was having to much fun (he is making a habit of this!) Does anyone remember when we lost him in Portsmouth when we where on tour? Apparently he was "Last seen behind a sofa cushion" But managed to re-join us two days later...

I think someone should start a website called "Where have we left Rich this time!" and people can post photo's of him in various places so we can locate him easier when we are on the road!

Anyway thanks to everyone involved in the last 3 shows - sound, lighting people, merch sellers, ticket collectors, the lovely folk at travellodge...  Oh and particular thanks to Irregular Choice and Anna Lou of London who helped me complete my outfits with there fabulous & Unique & beautiful shoes and Jewellery!
Links to both there sites are here-

Ok Myspace friends,
Thanks for reading, I have to go now and sort out my hovel of a flat!-
I opened my suitcase last night and it does look as if a massive glitter bomb has just exploded!

Thanks to those of you who where at the gigs!
Peace n Love to you all on this grey tuesday morning

Over n Out

Everyone else was too knackered to dance? Pffft, amateurs...

Hope that amoungst those photos there are photos of you all in costum on stage as you ment it to be seen (the fact that you probably ment it to be seen live, I choose to forget), will look at youtube video when I have a quiet moment, it's probably good for you to know that you've now seen the people who will be first on iTunes to by the EP when it comes out.
Still slightly amused by you off hand coment Saturday evening at UC, that I may have more of your music in my record collection than you do. To that end, I have discoverd another rair item of music on CD. Not the full version of Glory Halellujiah nor anything else from that old release. Something else, quite reacent, less special, but still with a certain amount of collectably value. Something you may know about but something quiet possibly unknown to most of us. To be honest its the existance of the disc it's self rather than the contents, and no, its not the version of the Album with the industry only art work, that dosen't interest me, not unique enough.
Watch out for it at the next gig (so long as I don't miss my chance to get it), even if that does end up being in the new year.
David :) x

Post Script
Oh, and it is imensly funny that some one in you possition still gets told "we can't sell you alcahol as your underage". Ofcoarse, Sods Law stipulats that you probably wouldn't of been asked if you had some ID with you. Still I suppose its slightly flatering that people think you either under 21 or still a teenager (depending on which systen there were useing). I find going round everywhere wareing a wide brimed brown hat all the time when out works a treat.
