No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I'm around, sort of.
On Friday the 13th of June (ironic) my youngest daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. I'd brought her into the doctor because I thought she might have mono or Lyme disease because we couldn't seem to get rid of a fever she'd had off and on since May 8th. I asked the doctor to order blood tests. Three hours later she called me back and asked me to go to the hospital for further tests.
My world came to a screeching halt when the tests came back positive for leukemia.
I won't get into all the details of that horrendous day or the day after while we waited to find out which type of cancer she had and whether she'd have a thirty-five percent chance of survival or a ninety-five percent chance. (she has a 95% chance of survival!Yay!)
Needless to say, any thoughts of working on my latest novella or promoting my newest release went completely out of my head. Writing was the last thing on my mind.
I don't see that changing any time in the next three years.
I'll try to keep this blog updated with my writing news, and maybe some high points about my life, but I'm not making any promises.
Thanks for understanding.
