Current mood:  sad

This installment is due to an email i received here on myspace. Now im not one to reveal who it was that sent it, but i thoguht i would share my views on it. This is not meant to upset anyone in anyway, the way that this email upset me.

Quote "JON BY YOUR SITE YOU SEEM NOT TO BE A BELIEVER IN JESUS CHRIST, OR YOU HAVE NOT LOOKED INTO GODS PRECIOUS WORD IS THIS TRUE MY FRIEND IF SO I TRULY CARE FOR THIS WORLD DOES NOT TAKE GOD SERIOUS AND THIS SADDENS MY HEART ...GOD BLESS "

This statement hurts cause in reality i am a firm believer in the Lord and Jesus Christ.  I pray everynight and ask for guidance when i need it the most. I consult them on the important issues i face day to day. Now i agreee life has its way of bringing you down to your knees. The last many years i can attest to this statement.  The way i look at it is God choose me to be who i am, and do what i am. People look at the psychic site as just that a site to get readings from. I look at the bigger picture that God outlined for me in this case. First off i have been put in a position where i can help people, something that i love to do. Im a very caring person by nature who has always been one to most of the time put others ahead of myself. Ask anyone that comes into the chatroom it is an atmosphere of people helping people. Not just the readers helping the clients, its the clients helping the clients threw supporting each other. This has given them the meduim to talk out there issues with each other and form a common bond. It gives them hope to see that they arnt the only ones dealing with issues that are singular in nature, but ones they share. God put me in a position to beable to bring that to these people. The second part of the bigger picture is that there are many sites on the net today that are corrupt. My site is not one of them. I have installed the practice of my HIE theory( honesty, intergrity, ethics) within the site itself. This is to give the people coming to the site the knowledge that they will get what they are expecting. So when someone says im not doing right by the lord i ask you this, what is the true big picture. I dont come to you telling you what way you have deviated off of God's path, nor do i look higher towards you for being who you say you are. God has areason for all of us, some walk the path of good, while others walk a path of evil. I help people, i care about people, and i give my all when i can. Yes it is a business, and yes it is out to make money to survive on the web that i will be truthful about as i have and never will have anything to hide about the business. Thats where the honesty, intergrity, and ethics come in. The readers do this as a way to support there families, i do it as a way to do that as well. Like i said though, look at what the bigger picture is before you judge me as a person. On a final note i will leave you with this, the site for a year has broken even, i have not made any personal money from it as it has gone back into the site itself. So i ask you am i doing this to help people and give them a place to find honesty, intergrity, and ethics or im a greedy, you tell me.

Well, I certainly have to comment on this one.............I have been a practicing Christian for all of my life................I even sang with a gospel quartet of ladies for nine years, and taught third, fourth, and fifth graders (actually more like baby-sat some days) on wednesday nights.........I have studied the Bible, and read self-help books and many a Christian book, but have always had un-answered questions...........I truly believe, and am not saying this to start some big religious debate as that is not what I am asking for, but I believe that the Holy Bible has been rewritting so many times by so many different people that even taking one word and changing it some will completely change the deepest meaning of what was intended by the author.......I also just had my 50th birthday, and of course, have done alot of soul-searching over the past couple of years, and while I still believe there is a God of the Universe, a great Creator/Spirit, and I do believe that Jesus did walk this earth, and all the things that have been written really did happen to him.........but I also believe alot more happened than we have been told, and for that I am searching.............I want the truth to this world.........I want to know why people have to be brain-washed to believe and act a certain way, while those doing the preaching are not walking the walk.......perhaps I have been disillusioned by teleevangelists making loads of money off of poor people to help "their ministries"...........perhaps I have been disillusioned by the "doctrine of men" telling me what or who I am, when only God my Creator can make that decision.........perhaps I am just tired of playing church which has only become a dress-up social club in some instances.....perhaps I am wrong, perhaps not..........none of us will really know until the next life..........Jon, I apologize for this fanatic who has hurt your feelings, but I admire you for sharing how you feel, because boy can I understand this one..........This is an issue very near and dear to my heart, and I hope you find the peace that you deserve.................Sorry if I vented here, but it was just an issue I felt I needed to share..............Blessings to you and yours.

Jon,

I have struggled with this issue for most of my life.

I went to catholic school and felt quite evil growing up and 'reading' people.

I have had friends, relatives, neighbors, teachers, and priests telling me I am either going to hell or I should do my work for free.

These are the conclusions I have come up with:

Guilt decreases my ability to recieve messages for people, so that is a useless emotion to me...I refuse to accept it.

I was born like this, and I will not believe that it is anything but God's gift to me.

Why is it that the men who recieved messages and visions and wrote a large part of the Holy Bible were 'prophets' and we are 'psychics'?   If those who judge what we do belive we can't hear the Holy Spirit, then they must not give credit to most of the Bible either.  (I have debated long with many a priest on this subject).

I expect to pay for my 'Rolling Stones' ticket.  I expect to pay for my Steeler's tickets,   I expect to pay to rent a movie or go to the theatre.

I do not expect any of these people to share their God-given talent for free.  Nor do they expect to work for free.

I can't sing.  I can't play piano, or hit a baseball.

But God has given me a gift that enables me to stay home and raise my child, take care of my home,  touch others lives in a positive way and still help my husband with the bills.   Many times I read for barter (or as I call it 'an exchange of talents')  and have received everything from canned goods,  fresh corn, the oil changed in my car,  candles, cookies, books (too many things to mention) and sometimes... just prayers.

I thank God every day, and I will never take advantage of this gift or I believe I will lose it, but this is also how I help put food on the table and buy shoes for my child.

You are an inspiration to many of us who are here with the same integrity and pride with what they do.

God Bless your path and don't lose site of those lives you touch!

~Gina

Greetings,

Jon, I fully agree that having Psychic abilities is a gift to be proud of. I too believe in God and Christ as I beleive in all gods. Each has it's own purpose as in protection, fertility, etc. I was raised a Methodist until I was 16 and saw the hypocrisy of it all, at least at my church.

I beleive that the Christian religion is one of MANY religions that looks down on any religious belief that does not fall into their beliefs. See in my present religion we respect and honor all religions and beliefs. I am a lot happier in my beliefs now than I ever was before I became a Pagan.

I, too, have a power to know when things are not right or bad happenings, at least with in my family and friends. I also have occasional dreams that come true, luckily not too often, because they are usually not good dreams.

I believes in multiple/past lives also.

Blessed Be.

Bethani

right on!  i truly believe that God gives people all kinds of talents, including psychic ones, and it is up to us to decide how to use those gifts.  if you are doing it in God's name, and helping people, then who is anyone to say you are not a believer.  as far as making money off of your talents, i believe that we are intended to survive in a way that makes us truly happy.  it is part of God's gift to us, to not just survive, but to live life to the fullest.  and your gift helps others do just that.

That person was coming from their own place of fear...has NOTHING to do with you.  All we can do with people like that is continue to stand in our own integrity  to support them in whatever way we can for their own journey to their truth.  Bless you Jon and good luck with your business.

Jon, Take comfort in knowing that you are doing what your soul/spirit is calling you to do.  I hope it thrives!  We live in a world where survival depends on making a living and good intentions don't pay the electric bill or buy groceries.  One day everyone will come to the conclusion that we all travel different paths to reach the same destination.

I had to learn and accept the hard way that you can't save everyone and you can't bend your beliefs or even get upset when someone challenges you. Those that write negative remarks have issues of their own that really shouldn't concern you if you're on your path.  Karma and the laws of the Universe are as sure as gravity. I'm sure you'll receive many more and much worse in the course of your life in this business but just let it roll off. It's funny how someone would want to take their time to tell you what a terrible way of life you're leading. I'd love to meet them as they must be so joyful and fufilled. I wrote about the very reason you started your business on myspace when it comes to psychics. Check it out sometime

Always.......in love

Sending a hug! I have faced a lot of criticism for being myself. Some days that is harder to deal with than others. I too suffer from insomnia at times, maybe these are just things that sensitive and creative people have to deal with?

Just knowing that many other people go through this can help, but I do wish there were fewer very judgmental ones out there, the way I see it is I accept others belief systems, why can't they do the same for me.........then I realise it is just fear. Fear that you have to follow the 'rules', maybe this person is more sensitive than they like to admit to themselves?

By the way I am pleased to add you as a friend...........smiles........

Just keep being you, you are someone who I would be proud to call a friend  When people try to control us or tell us how wrong we are for simply being who we are, it can be hurtful, it sometimes makes it feel like a waste of time being me! Then I take a step back and realise hey I have loads of people who love me because I am me, I am a free spirit and many will be scared by that........

Sorry I am tired I am babbling!

be happy

Religion (or beliefs) are a very personal thing.....it's what's in your heart and soul and how you live your life that matter, not really what you call (or label) yourself.

Jon,
Some people have no sense for that I'm sorry that this one seems to have caused you pain.  FIrst off  I have to say that I believe in God and in Jesus Christ.  However, I also believe that had God not wanted me to help others then HE wouldn't have given me the talent or gifts that he's given me and from such a tender age as well. For those who want to complain about "Psuchics" back up and read your bible where the PROPHETS are at in it and WHAT they were doing.  HELLO folks those people were doing NOTHING MORE THAN PREDICTING FUTURE events that would happen as was given to them and spreading HOPE and HELP where they could.  Did not JESUS also do the same...well HE said He'd be prosecuted and that He would Rise again.  AND HE DID.  EVERYONE who opens up to the possibility and stops having a closed mind about psychics and their gifts just MIGHT be able to see that it's nothing more than that...a GIFT given to those willing to HELP others.  Yes it's true SOME CLAIM to be psychics and are not....there's no help for that...It's one of the crosses we must bare in life but it does NOT mean that there are not people who believe in God that can and DO have gifts to share with others.

Now I was born and raised a mormon by my parents. I used to dabble in Wicca, then i went to buddhism then to tibetian buddhism but now i am a Wiccan Tibetan Buddhist.

That email bothers me. Just because somebody is psychic or had special abilities does not mean taht they are non believers. All it says is that whether it is my god or your god taht gave them special gifts doesnt matter. What matters is that they have these special gifts.

Jon I agree with you one hundred percent on what you said.

I personally believe taht we all come from a higher power whether we all believe that it is the same one or not. As long as we have faith in something and believe it doesnt matter. There would be less wars if there were no fighting over religion and beliefs.

But i have gotten off track about this comment i commend you jon for feeling what you felt and expressing yourself like any sane person should do.

I am with MsKitty. And pretty much with what everyone else said, too. It is between you and God/J.C. It is very sad to know that some people fail to see and grasp the idea that "good" people out there can and are gifted with things such as psychic abilities and all sorts of stuff. Yes, there are those who have the abilities who I suppose may be walking down a not so good path, but justice is brought to us all in the end. Anyhow, I have had to go through what you are going through. I, too, am a total believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and I have some gifts but only because of Jesus my Lord....but if people from my old church knew of the rest of me, I would have been shunned by most if not all the congregation, I feel. *Not that I let that bother me too much, just pointing out what is probably a fact*. There IS such a thing as a good path of those of us who are gifted and who are also believers...not everyone is going to "hell" just because they have a gift. It is sad that some people don't understand this. Along with their being prophets in the Bible, it also says in there that God will bestow upon people all sorts of gifts. I forget where I read it or I would even quote it, lol! But I don't feel that is altogether necessary, either. Take it easy, Jon, and Peace and many Blessings be to you and yours.

It is said that God will speak through us to man. In away isn't that what you are doing? We all have gifts from God, who is to say that they are wrong? Not I, not them, YOU and your God.  If you are happy, content, peaceful, then NO one can take that away. I say continue to do what you do. If you help just one person, doing what you do, then you are doing what you were ment to do.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment Jon.
When it comes to readings, a lot of people only remember the scripture about not fortune telling.  A reading shouldn't be about telling the future anyway.  It merely shows influences in a person's life and what the result may be if these influences continue or do not continue.
There is a scripture in the New Testament that says, "All things are lawful for me, all things are not useful for me."  The cards may be useful for some and not useful for others.
Fortune telling almost necessarily involves enforcing the consultant's or the questioner's will on the reading and blocks the opportunity where the real changes can and should be made.  I think this is what is bothering some Christians.

The Lord gives us free will to decide these things for ourselves, but every effort should be made to avoid the "fortune telling" we're warned against in the Bible.  Helping people see the influences in their lives is where the real work is.  That's what the prophets have been doing for thousands of years, showing people where they're going wrong and what to do about it.

I believe God can override any situation through our prayers and faith.  If we keep His commandments and love one another and forgive one another, we're doing what he asked of us.

Good luck.

Jon,

I am psychic and I believe in God and Jesus Christ will all of my heart. Religion has become mans interpretation of  the way things should be. I was raised LDS and have overcome many obstacles to get to where I am today. If you know in your heart that what you do is right then it simply is.

Best Wishes,

Save your breath Jon. That person was interested in nothing but spreading judgment is seemed. You do not need to defend you're right to be a Christian. People who judge your heart by your deeds may need to defend theirs

God's bestowed gifts upon you, me, your psychics, my friends' psychics, my mother, your mother, my boyfriend and because someone wants to choose to believe that any gift we possess is evil or wrong or bad, I pity them. Their life is limited in the mitote.

I have a friend who belongs to a church and she is not allowed to dance. To dance would mean she is going to hell. I lovingly suggest to people who think they have God all figured out, to examine themselves. God gave me discernment and I can discern between *my dream* and *your dream.* This means the path I walk is mine as is yours. I may have different challenges and lessons to learn but it doesn't mean that if you do not follow me you are going to hell. Why would I let a fallible human being dictate my life's course? Can't I go to God in my spirit alone? Isn't that, in fact, what Jesus promised? The Advocate?

Whether that being is a pastor saying if I dance I am going to hell, or an ignorant misguided soul who feels the need to spew off an email of judgment, I am not to follow them. if I were that emailer I'd look at the dust in her eye before I worried about any "assumed dust" in yours. For if she were able to get her own dust clean, she would see you not have one - not in this regard. My dusty eyes keep me blind to myself as well as others. How egocentric of me to make such brave assumptions of your spiritual fitness. Mercy! How intemperent!

...and it for this I do not claim I am a Christian. God/Jesus/Spirit knows where my heart is but I cannot call myself a name like that when the examples I have seen are doing everything BUT following Christ. Bravo for you for having the courage to do it. I don't associate myself with the word and I let people see from my actions who "I Am."

Namaste.

Very interesting topic!

This summer I have been doing tarot readings at the beach, just in front of a boardwalk store that is a metaphysical gift shop. I am sometimes amazed at the judgement I receive from people who don't even know me! One night, when I briefly stepped away from my table, someone left a "you're going to hell tract on my table. I think these so-called Christians think that we are channeling evil spirits. They seem to forget that all through the bible God spoke to man. Do these "Christians" believe that God no longer speaks to us?

Anyway...everyday I bless the space in which I work, and ask God and the Angels that I might be of help to others.

Thanks for your blog.

Kudos

I agree with the other folks on the comment page...
Also-- I recently read an article in our local natural healing arts magazine, Alternatives:

http://www.alternativesmagazine.com

The Summer 2006 issue includes an article called "The Gift of Prophecy: Divination in the Bible", by Paul O'Brien, a New Thought minister and Buddhist.
The article points out that those who say that divination is forbidden generally point to ONE passage out of the whole Bible. But there are countless other examples in Biblical writings of prophets directly receiving divine wisdom from God-- in other words, they are practising divination. There is even a possible reference to the use of something like Runes or Oghams.

Funny how people who DON'T want you to think for yourself are the ones who believe that one MUST have an intermediary between self and God... Hmm....

Keep up the good work, Jon.

I agree that it is very important to have honesty, integrity and eithcs, but I don't believe you have to be a Christian to have them. I am an occultist and I value those beliefs as well as being one's real self and not judging others by what they seem to be.

Well honestly you just friend requested me and I almost denied you when I saw that it was a psychic site.  But to do that would be hypocritical because I used to be into that stuff before I surrendered 100% of my life over to Jesus Christ.  Now, to follow Jesus Christ means to follow His Word.  If you're going to follow Him, then you either follow His Word 100%, or you're following a liar.  There is no middle ground with that.  I'm sure you've heard all the scriptures about this stuff by now, so I'm not going to sit here and quote 'em all to ya.  But just realize that at least you're seeking after righteousness, and the Bible does say blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.  You seem like you do.  If you keep on hungering and thirsting after it, keep an open mind and keep seeking after it and don't shut doors just because of stupid "religious" people and their doctrines, you will inevitably end up at Jesus' feet.  And you will either accept Him, or reject Him.  One question, though.  Have you ever studied any of the Levitical law at all?  Have you ever looked into what God required of the Israelite children if a "seeker of the stars" was found among them?  I think it's in Exodus, should you get curious.

Meanwhile, be blessed and keep seeking righteousness.

Love,

Tonya

Coming across this topic is right on time for me. I recently experienced a similar thing in a much more serious form. I believe in God and Jesus Christ myself. I also know that our creator gave each and every person special gifts. What we choose to do with them has everything to do with the condition of our soul. I believe that being out to help fellow mankind is a blessing. Your nasty emailer sounds like many of the same things that I've been personally hearing. I'm far from a pro and also think it's ridiculous for people to think they can come around to see and hear what they can and then just blaspheme and conjure whatever hate they can throw in a direction. That's not what God, love, light and a person's birth gifts are about. Keep to your relationship with God and use your abilities for the good and to heck with what the hecklers have to say about it. Only God is our Judge, he reveals to us what he wants us to know. Some people can not handle that. Oh well! I do understand that it's painful to experience. Just remember that all kinds of sickening prejudices exist in this world, and that's one of them. I wish you the best, continue to be blessed despite the wounds from haters!

Love and light;

Nikki

I too have had my salvation come into question. I have been asked if I truely had a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. I say truely I do. When one's core is questioned in such a fashion it can lead to hurt feelings and put them on the defense. Well at least it has for me. No one has the right to question another's relationship with the Lord, its between you and God and in my opinion, to do so is to question God's work. Because he truely is working htrough me and through you!

The Old Testament is full of psychics, or to use the biblical term, prophets. Some prophesised the coming of a savior, others served as counsels to kings, others were simply never documented.

Humanity is experiencing increased energy vibrations at levels never before documented in human history. With this comes a increased number of people having psychic experiences. I personally am not one of these, I do not have the ability to predict the future. But I have certainly had my own personal experiences that are "not of this world." Some call it crazy, and I might as well if it was someone else telling me about them.

The Lord blesses me daily. This past year has been a year of change, a lot of it struggle, but ALL of it resulting in blessings. I do not believe God would bless my life in such a way if I did not have the realtionship I do with Christ. So what I'm trying to say is if God doesnt question my relationship, who is anyone else to do so?

I cannot comment on what jesus says is Ok or not ok, as I am a jew.And as a result of that fact I too have been on the bad end of many a Christian judgemental soap box,so I can relate.I have the notion that gifts are god given and God allows us to use them for the right purposes, always in the best interest of others on the path. I feel everyone must follow their own sense of right and wrong that comes from deep within them.I have done tarot cards since I was 13 and also have a strong ability in some psychic areas.I have never charged anyone for a reading ,but I do not condemn or judge those who do.I believe if you get carried away trying to amass wealth through a gift it will have a high price to pay, infact i knew a psychic who paid that price. But I also think everyone has to follow their own feelings on what is right or wrong for them, and God has a way of letting us know by stepping down hard on our tail in many ways to tell us that we are on the wrong track. The best guide you have is your own voice that tells you what is right and wrong, not the voice of someone else who feels the need to save anyone who does not adhere to their beliefs. So ignore these criticisms and listen to your own concience, as it is your best guide as long as you don't tune out what you don't want to hear, you will be fine.

Psychic ability is a gift from God. If some are closed minded to this & don't understand, that's their problem--I'm sure you're blessed to have this special gift.
Best Wishes

Jon, I feel badly for you somewhat. I actually despise people who go around, poking their noses into other peoples` businesses and telling them how to live a perfect life, when they, in fact are not perfect at all. They have NO RIGHT to tell you what or what not to do or tell you that you are pursuing a sinful life, because I daresay that we are all sinners and we have no right to judge one another. Does anyone here remember "Don`t ridicule a person for the sliver in his eyes when you have an entire log in your own!"

(They saying doesn`t actually go life that, but I just can`t remember the precise wording at the moment.)

But what I am trying to say to everyone is, don`t judge anyone. God created us each individually, and didn`t He create us with our uniqueness for a purpose? He wants us to be unique! That means having our own beliefs and thoughts as well! If He didn`t want that for us, then why did He give it to us?

And I absolutely despise that people categorize themselves according to groups. The reason that our world suffers in so many areas today is because people refuse to accept others and are extremely judgmental of anyone who they believe is wrong. No one is wrong, only everyone is different. Sure, we are to attempt the benefit of the whole because we are all people living in a single world, but the differences in us is what upholds the world and makes it an interesting place to live. It can almost be seen in a rainbow. A rainbow isn`t beautiful unless all of the colors work together to form beauty, even though all the colors are different and unique. The Red should go to the green, "You`re the wrong color! You don`t deserve to be a part of the rainbow!" and then eliminate one of the primary colors of the rainbow. Then why do we, as people, go around and say to others "your way of thinking is wrong! You should be eliminated, or your beliefs and thought process should be exterminated!" No! There is tremendous beauty in variety when the differences coordinate and harmonize to excel and beautify! The world is composed of a huge rainbow full of unimaginable, beautiful colors and differences. Don`t cause it to become dull and one repetitive color. Let the colors blossom and flourish. Encourage uniqueness in a single group of harmonizing individuals.
