most ghosts i have encountered wont accept quarters or other 'hard' currency, i think this is because ghosts in general dont have pockets, or maybe it is the ephemeral nature of being a ghost makes it hard to deal with currency and financial issues.
on an unrelated subject, it is inadvisable to try to sell your soul on Ebay, as the devil does not keep a paypal account.
