woke up this morning earlier than last night, it's becoming a new trend for us. we are getting out on the road earlier, as well. we figure having time to chill in each of the places we cruise to would be better in the long run. i have a feeling gas prices will only go up as we head north up the eastern seaboard. new jersey might have some good prices, but hopefully we catch another break and at least break even. we all embarked on this sonic excursion with the full knowledge of its perils and pitfalls, however, we are professionals and will always find the princess no matter how complex the castle.

our old friends, feral jazz children opened the show tonight with the thundering bass and lightning rad drums that i remembered from our last visit to chapel hill. andre sounded more vicious and hungry than ever, i was very impressed with the ferocity these guys brought. with the droning bass fuzz to the blazing fast drums, right down to the strobe light...these guys are really going places, and a split-album has just been cut courtesy of philbogian recording with feral jazz children and carpet violence.

if you have the desire to be shackled at the cackles and rattled silly, check this out! unfortunately, my digital camera battery was completely drained and we didn't have any inverter power with the cigarette-adapter to charge it beforehand. i wanted a picture with andre for the blog, but he had to roll out before we could have a quick snap. if you are in the chapel hill, north carolina area, find these guys and get melted.

by (yes, that's their name) played next with their signature keyboard orchestra and electronic drum set and riff'n guitar. very epic-haunt synthish with different rhythmic square wave-like tones going on simultaneously, i seriously love layers of keyboards. by about the last quarter of their set, my camera had enough juice for me to take only a few pictures. it was very difficult for me to get everyone in a single shot, believe me.

we had a pretty strong set tonight, and we played a request for creeks. we sold some cds and maybe even a few buttons, jeah. after hanging out for a bit post-show, it seemed to get late real quick and we needed to leave the philbog nice and early since the philbogians had class in the morning. right now, i'm passing out on the futon and currently having road dejavu...signs, exits and lights.

tomorrow, we will be slipping away to richmond, virginia to meet up and rock with wade jeffries and beauty in dirt @ the camel. bear hugs to scott, andre, and all those involved in making the show a success! we were pumped to have to opportunity to break the philbog curse. can't wait to hear about all the upcoming developments and events coming to the bog, phil.

much love to all, goodnight...
