Current mood: determined
we rolled out of chapel hill, north carolina around 11:00a this morning with our sights set on the camel in richmond, virginia. we are pumped to get back in the show-saddle with wade jeffries and play with local dudes, beauty in dirt.

once we arrived in richmond, we walked around for a while and stopped into a music shop. there was, amongst other things, an 88-key (weighted action) casio wk that had all the built-in effects (who knows what else) that my wk3k had...but, sounded several thousand dollars better. i had some fun and programmed in a few of my signature sounds before goin tone-tweak nasty, for a few minutes. it's always fun to change and explore the boundaries of bend parameters with LFO's, sqr waves, whatever.

after a while in richmond, the heat got so extreme, that we embarked on a quest to find a swimming pool. there are several different ways to find a pool, we went with the holiday inn. close-by, convenient and we had the whole pool to ourselves; courtesy of holiday inn.

you get the idea.
we got to the camel several hours early, and just decided to get things organized and coordinated for the evening performance. as the night progressed, the show didn't start @ the posted time and we waited for an attendance that never arrived. while waiting, the booker informed us that the local bands' drummer was, "in disposed" and that they were having complications. we waited nearly an hour for things to be able to cool off and work out, but ultimately, the band doesn't show up or contact us to explain the scope of their difficulty. whatever, we still played a rockin monumental set and i got to tickle the ivories on the house piano. it sounded like it was in the midst of on-going tender loving care and i felt like i left a piece of myself there.

wade jeffries, a one-man musical army, delivered a bebop and rocksteady performance with people playing auxillary percussion @ his feet. his new material is absolutely historic. if you haven't already, get in contact with jeff and ask him for his new album, 2. after the show, jeff and bob were nice enough to provide us with shelter for the night. it was really sweet of them to do so, especially since we were not feeling up to driving around and looking for a cheap motel to sleep. much love to those dudes for being super awesome, we dug it.
need to get some rest, have a bit a driving to do tomorrow with bridges to cross and tunnels to tread...places to rock and trolls to dread.
night.
