In our country these past years
Some of them brought happiness
A lot of them brought tears
I don't like to dwell upon the past
As others so often do
But I think we all should never forget
Those missed by me and you

Each killing brought so many tears
When read out on the news
It's easy to point the finger

Ignore the voices of those who've gone
