It breaks my heart to say, that I may be losing my ferret 'Socky'. He is at the vet right now fighting for his life as I type this. Please send your prayers and well wishes to 'Socky' to give him the strength to get through this.
They have now clue what has happened, as he is exhibiting some of the same signs 'Tubesock' was when she fell ill. He is lethargic, dehydrated, pretty much catatonic. He also has developed purple bruising and swelling on his front end, and his temperature is so low that the thermometer can't even pic it up. They gave him fluids, and put him on some really high antibiotics. I felt like I was abandoning him when the vet told me to leave him with them, but I knew it was best.
For those of you that don't know 'Socky' let me introduce him to you.

I got 'Socky' from Cowtown in Regina, last summer. The day prior to us coming in, some kids had dropped him off there. He was filthy, weak, rotten teeth, due to years of neglect, his tail had been broken, and the hair on it appeared to be cinged off. He had no name and walked like a drunken sailor, due to being so malnourished.
When we first brought him home he slept 95% of the time, to be honest I didn't even think he'd make it. I just thought at least if he died, he would have at least have gotten to know what it felt like to be loved.

'Socky' was a fighter though, and he came through it with a love for life. He came to star in many of his own YouTube videos, due to being such a character. Even my latest woodburning video that I am working on, 'Socky's' zipping back and forth, even stopping to watch for a bit. I just hope that it's not the last video he's in :(

It is 12:30 and I recieved a call from the Vet. My little "Socky" has died. He wasn't just a ferret to me. He showed me that even though abused, in ways we couldn't even imagine, he loved life to the fullest. He was my shining star that always brought a smile to my face with all of his shinanigans.
Rest in Peace my friend :(
