Many of you have asked about the 2009 Films For Food Event. "Where", "When", "Who", etc. and the answers aren't simple.
In 2008, our home venue Theater 145 (The Roadhouse) was closed, leaving us without a place to throw down our festival.
The support of film makers World Wide has been amazing, with films being contributed from artists like Michael Moore, Miranda Bailey, and even international recording artist Madonna.
Still, the lack of a suitable venue has put the 2009 Event in Jeopardy. I am right now seeking sponsorships to help defray the costs of renting a suitable space, but all of this is currently 'up in the air'.
The spirit of 'Films For Food' is that every aspect of the event is donated, from the venue to the films, to the collection of food. We are not a 'Non-Profit', but a collective of concerned artists who want to help out people in our community who desperately need it.
So for now at least, there is not a 2009 'Films For Food' Event scheduled, but that could change in the coming weeks.
