Also, please make sure you subscribe to the Hugs Heal Blog for updates on this and other subjects and digg the article to raise awareness of the rules that are banning children from showing affection!

It is such a pitty that public display of affection has gone a step to far and that they have to ban it right form the simplest form.

I can remember when we were in school no one went around touching each other or giving each other hugs. Even when I was 13 and my dad died. No one hugged me at school. Because I never talked about it.

Is some contries public display of affection is a crime you can be arrested for and yet those people do not seem emotionally hurt by not being able to touch or hug in public.

It is a shame that our pendulum has swung to such an extremem, maybe some day we can reach a happy medium.

Personally I would prefer that my child not be hugged at school by anyone because I could never tell when that hug can cross the line. A pat on the head or a squeeze of the shoulder can do just as well. My children got a lot of hugs at home.

Yeah, I know, people are getting pretty bad about that. About 2 months ago a female friend that I work with got into trouble with her boss for hugging me before I left work every day. She was told that she could be charged with sexual harassment if it continued. I still don't see how that could be legal when I'm the one she was hugging, and I didn't feel the slightest bit harassed. We teach our childeren that it's bad to show any kind of affection and then wonder why the world seems more full of people who only care about themselves and no one else than ever before in it's history.

Not sure what the harm is here. Let's punish the good things and not the bad hugh.
