The Hee Haw Sessions - Friday 08th May 2009 - Santiago, Leeds
Gurf Morlix + Andrea Glass
First of all thanks to Andrea Glass for travelling the length of England to come and open the show. Her album was recorded in Nashville, produced by Kevin Montgomery and features pedal steel guitar by American C&W legend Al Perkins. And you can feel the quality when you listen: www.myspace.com/andreaglassmusic
As for Gurf Morlix, just what can we say? The guy is a legend. He sure knows how to do it; he played a storming two hour set! And you all stayed beyond last bus till he finished!
The Hee Haw Sessions cannot express just how happy we are having had the privilege to promote this show. When Hee Haw had its humble beginnings two years ago there was a long list of music we set out to bring to Leeds. We are working our way slowly through that list. High up at the top of the list has always been the raw, country guys such as Billy Joe Shaver and Gurf Morlix. These are the guys who have reached legend status within their field but don’t tour much. We never actually thought we would get the chance to promote them. But here we are. And it feels good. Thanks to you who continue to come to the shows and keep The Hee Haw Sessions ticking over.
Gurf has thoroughly enjoyed himself on this tour and he plans on returning to the UK. Keep an eye on his web pages for more details:
