I wrote this song in Mexico at the start of last summer.
It definately has a dark edge to it,
but as in all things,
darkness always suggests light.

With everything gained,
something gets lost.

I remember reading once,
how James Brown,
in order to "stay on the scene",
began to imitate younger folks
who were, in turn,
imitating James Brown!

So what are we chasing now?

'Spose it's somewhere between
what is understood to be "SOPHISTICATION"
and what Sam Cooke was talking about
in "What a Wonderful World This Would Be"
("don't know much about da da da")

Well I'm not prepared to suggest
anything definitive here,
except my very sincere hope that
YOU WILL NOT NEED A LAWYER TO APPRECIATE THIS SONG!
You can tackle that phone bill tomorrow.

This song was recorded on Sunday 12/28/08
with my brother, Chris on a 8 track digital Roland, in @ 4 hours.

"GOODBYE" was written in Cape May, NJ back in August 08.
We recorded it on Saturday, before the spackle had a chance to dry.
I love recording with my bro.

Happy 2009!
