I guess I'm really going to have to face it, I'm getting old.  Last night Connery and I were working on the next Snackbox album, its going to be ready to take to the mastering studio on Monday!  We work up at KUED at the U and didn't get finished until really late around 1 in the morning.  I took 4th south all the way to the 15 and just as I was passing Pioneer Park the red & blues came on in my mirror.

I knew exactly why I was being pulled over, my plates expired 2 weeks ago, I had taken care of the safety and emissions but still hadn't mailed in the money and paperwork.  I pull over, and start going through my jockey to get the papers, I hadn't turned down my stereo or even put the car in park yet and the cop was right there at my window tapping on the glass.  Whoops.  Well I put it in park, turned off Wreckless Eric, and rolled down the window.

"Do you know why I pulled you over tonight?" He asked with a smile, damn a smile?

"Yeah, plates expired, here's my paperwork I just haven't mailed it in yet, sorry."

He took the papers, flipped through them, "Have you been pulled over for this before?"

"Nope, here let me give you my drivers license..."

He let out a little chuckle, handed the papers back, then patted me on the shoulder and said "Don't worry about that, have a nice night."

This whole thing took place in a little over a minute.  I know because I looked at my clock it said 1:30 when the lights went on, I pulled away at 1:32.  As I pulled away I clicked the radio back on, cranked up Wreckless Eric, and started laughing.  I guess I'm no longer a rebellious young adult, I'm a harmless thirty-something, and in the wee hours of the night I'm not even worth a shakedown.

I called Connery up on the way home and told him about what just happened, we both laughed about it, hell if it'd been him I'm sure the police would have loved to harass the youngster.  I know when I was 19 and got pulled over I was getting searched, so was the car, and I was possibly being accused of several possible crimes in the area.  Maybe I just looked and smelled like trouble 16 years ago more then I do now.  I think that cop was a pretty cool policeman, I like good cops, he knew there were much more important things to be doing in the Pioneer Park district, I'm really glad it took him just a few seconds to realize that.

Well enough chit-chat, lets PODCAST!  This last week Novaburn came down to KRCL and jammed some sweet tunes.  Their podcast is up now for your enjoyment.  I also went back through my archives and busted out a couple shows that I really, REALLY liked from 2008, the first one is from June 21st, Palace of Buddies is the band really cool stuff.

The third free downloadable podcast is a very unique one, I had my first hip hop performance on Not a Side Show Mindstate blew up the airwaves back on July 12th.  Get all these podcasts here or just search your iTunes podcast directory and ENJOY!

Coming up this weekend on January 17th Cavedoll will be playing live in the KRCL studios!

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, love, livin' in the citay! Its strange, but a lot of the downtown cops are friendly. I think a lot of them genuinely like their job and know there's enough other crap going on to make their quota on than busting people's chops over plates. I think its when you venture past 9th south that you start to find real jerks.
