Omero's
ILIAD
"Progressive Duels on Grand Piano"....
The Finnish Progressive Music Association COLOSSUS is planning to release a follow up to the 3 CDs box-set ODYSSEY (Musea FGBG 4534). This new concept album will be based on Omero's epic poem the "ILIAD".
Here are some basic ideas of the project:
- The 24 "books" of the ILIAD will be assigned to 12 pianists. Each artist participating to the project will choose two "books" and make their music inspired by them.
- Maximum total length for both tracks 12 min.
- Only instrument allowed: Grand Piano.
- A retro, vintage, early 70's feel is required (Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Tony Banks, Patrick Moraz, etc.).
- We are looking for: virtuoso, melody, passion, feelings, and coherence with the story.
- Each pianist participating will record their songs by themselves. The deadline for the project will be January 2010 by which time the recordings on CD-R (non-mastered) should be sent to COLOSSUS.
