Robot Child - Gold Sharks / Amber Turtle

OUT NOW, availible at Beatport or other good digital retailers

Hot on the heels of ‘Oculus/Tangent’, Sideways Recordings are proud to present their second release from Robot Child aka Tim Green. Things have gone from strength to strength for Tim with new singles for Dirtybird and Cocoon and an international schedule with gigs in South America, Tokyo, Berlin and the US to name a few. The momentum continues with Carl Cox and Pete Tong joining the ever growing list of supporters and with a DJ magazine nomination for Best UK Breakthough Producer he’s becoming a name well known throughout the tech scene.

This time round we have ‘Gold Sharks’, an outstanding piece of techno, melodic and uplifting but still tough enough to shake any dancefloor. This was one of Tim’s earlier tracks that we have been excited about for a while showing an alternative side to his production brought up to date with a sharp new edit. On the flip we have ‘Amber Turtle’ with a more minimal techno feel and submarine sonar tones which build into a bouncy funked-up bassline that transforms the track bringing it back into housier territory.

WOW WOW WOW
This is a very serious record you've got here.
Probably one of his best, I just love it when he is a bit more "balearic"...
Expect full support from me.

Nic Fanciulli

John Digweed

Luke Solomon
killer, full support

Tim Green's productions under his own name are unquestionably 'the business', and his Robot Child alias is pretty hot too. 'Gold Sharks' ebbs and flows for four minutes before unleashing all sorts of melodic justice upside your head, while 'Amber Turtle' has a glossy pop sheen not entirely dissimilar to that of Booka Shade.
8/10.
