Hello America, Rob here.

This took longer than I thought, mostly because my internet went on strike at the exact moment that I clicked "post" and if myspace saves drafts somewhere then I don’t know how to access them. Anyway, I promised to try to keep the world of the internet updated on all things Revivalists, and, to that effect, here are some words:

The biggest thing going for us right now is the album. We are currently in the home stretch of a few weeks of recording under the direction of ridiculously overqualified producer Chris Finney. The process has certainly been intense, but it’s been so rewarding to watch this project come to life. It’s like raising a child, all the while knowing that your child will one day grow up and become a CD that you can sell after concerts. I think we’ve all learned a lot from this experience. We’ve been forced to expand our creative and technical horizons, and in the process we’ve all grown as musicians. The release date of our as-yet-unnamed album (title suggestions are welcome) is TBA, but soon enough that you can all feel free to start getting excited about it. We certainly are.

On an equally awesome note*, this was a great weekend for The Revivalists. We played three shows in two days and in two states. The New Orleans Seafood Festival was great, and our trip to Pensacola was an unmitigated success. Paradise Inn, the Bar/Grill/Hotel where we played on Saturday & Sunday, was incredibly accommodating.  We played on an outdoor stage not 30 feet from the water of the Pensacola Bay. I spent Sunday afternoon standing knee-deep in salt water while fish circled my ankles. The weather was beautiful, the people were warm and receptive, and Zack lost at minigolf so he had to sing "Sweet Home Alabama" during one of our setbreaks. That's 3 for 3 in my book.

All in all, good week I’d say. That’s it for now. Don’t die.

*:All of my notes are equally awesome because they are all 100% awesome, and 100% = 100%.
