Hello America, Rob here.
I have a special treat for you all today. I'm going to bring you inside the studio and give you all a sneak peek at the creative process behind the production of our new (still untitled) album. We've been out of the studio for a bit while Finney has been busy mixing and mulling and probably smoking those weird cigarettes of his that don't smell like cigarettes, but we've all been in constant contact through email, desperate late-night text messages, and occasionally by showing up at each other's doorsteps at 4 in the morning belligerent, naked and crying, clutching a makeshift bouquet assembled from flowers stolen from the neighbor's yard.
It's been a trasitional period, and a rough one at that.
Anyway, just a few minutes ago I sent our producer, dictator and fearless leader Chris Finney an email, and I thought it would be fun to "CC" it to all of you and give you a little taste of, well, what we do:

I have an important idea for the album. I really think this is going to take us to the next level with regard to both consumer appeal and critical acclaim.
My idea?
Not all throughout the album, but just in a few key places (maybe just one), we need a background track of Dave singing the word "shorty" with autotune. If implemented properly, an autotuned "SHAWTAAY" could provide the sort of timely, poignant counterpoint to the album's underlying themes of lost love and redemption. This will be just the thing to make this record the hit it deserves to be, and the hit we all deserve to make. Think about it:
"And I love you more than hurricane winds blow (SHAWTAAY)
No I could never forget you..."
It's gold, I say. Pure gold. No, fuck gold. It's platinum.

I sure hope he gets back to me soon! I really think I'm on to something here.
In other news, we'll be hitting the road today and Sunday. If you live in Alabama and you don't see us this weekend then you are a jerk. Saturday we'll be playing the second annual Music for Matt Benefit Concert with Papa Grows Funk. The concert will benefit not one but TWO great causes, as well as honor the memory of a great guy. You can read more about it here.
Alright, that's all. Until next time.
