Category: Pets and Animals
We've been very busy at SARC recently, that's part of the reason the old Myspace has been a bit neglected. But hopefully we're back on top of that... For now...

So whats been happening?

As we said above, we've been very busy, so in no particular order:

SARC activists have been continuing a year long campaign to make the Portsmouth Dockyard go Fur Free with regular visits to Nauticalia, a shop who sell toy cats made from real rabbit fur. The Portsmouth shop kept on moaning that they can't just not sell what head office sends them, so with that in mind couple of weeks ago we popped to their head office in Middlesex. Lots of leaflets and a bit of noise let this quiet little office know exactly how we feel about the skins of dead animals being used as toys.
The campaign continues over summer so if you are in the portsmouth area, email us on info@..sarconline...co.uk to get involved

SARC also got told earlier this year that Pampurred Pets the pet shop was selling toys for cats made from rabbit fur. When we contacted them we were told that yes they were, then they weren't, then they were again... It was a real headache for us, but with a couple of nice letters to head office and some polite phone calls, we were happy to confirm last month that Pampurred Pets had gone FUR FREE!
Well done Pampurred Pets.

SARC have been busy in Bouremouth too. Working with BARC (who you can check out in our top friends) we have confirmed several places have gone FOIE GRAS FREE! making Bouremouth a much more ethical place to be.

And not to be outdone by the BARC lot, Southampton SARC had a couple of hotels give up Foie Gras earlier this year too!

We're keeping up the pressure on the Foie Gras front and if you live in Bouremouth or The Isle of Wight and would like to join one of SARC's exciting, peaceful and legal demonstrations,.. email our volunteer Andy on andy@..sarconline...co.uk, telling us where you are from and what you would like to be involved with.

SARC activists have been piling on the pressure to close the Portsmouth Greyhound Track too and we promise all the animals tortured by this cruel 'sport' that we will not give in until the track is closed.

Earlier this year, SARC Winchester protested against an illegal puppy breeder and had a great public response too!

Last but not least, Tomorrow sees brave SARC activists set off on a HUGE hike around Petersfield to raise money for animals, you can donate to the cause from the link on www...sarconline...co.uk by clicking on the Sponsored Walk article.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART IN SARC DEMOS THIS NUMBER, DROP US AN EMAIL AT INFO@..SARCONLINE...CO.UK
