So I just finished watching "King of Kong" about the Donkey Kong record, and I went to the record-keeper site TwinGalaxies.com to browse the records. And as it turns out, I should rightfuly own a world record.
As my old friend Adam Martin could confim, back in the day he and I regularly competed for Super Mario Kart superiority. The benchmark of success was the first race, Mario Circuit 1. Eventually, using Bowser, I finihsed in a time of 58 seconds. Since then, I've never been able to break or match that record, and the cartridge's memory has long since erased.
If you look at TwinGalaxies.com, and search for the Mario Circuit 1 "Official" record, it is 1 minute 11 seconds.
Of course, I have no proof, so in effect I have nothing. Oh well...
