Hello Everyone,

It's been a busy couple of weeks here for me in Spitfiresland. This is partly due to doing 3 shows in as many weeks, and partly due to being all alone for the last week or so as Chris has gone to Disneyland for a well deserved holiday, I hope he's having fun.

So since I last wrote on this thing we've had two shows, first off Times New Viking just over a week ago. What an amazing show that was, Times New Viking are so fucking loud it hurts, in a good way. Also a sterling support job from Copy Haho and one of my new faves, Meursault. So good we thought Meursault were infact that we're getting them back to support the Twilight Sad, which is in less than two weeks (eek!).

Last night we had Johnny Foreigner, who we had .. earlier in the year. I was pretty excited as they are one of my favorite bands right now. It was lovely to see them again and to introduce them to the wonders of Frightened Rabbit's new record also watching Alexei's disgust at being described as a screechy twee indie poser on Drowned in Sound (justifiable disgust I think, but funny none the less), also they were suitably amazing and playing songs that they wrote and stuff. Also playing were Tubelord, who were as brilliant as they were excited (which was A LOT as they were in Edinburgh for the first time) lovely boys (apparetnly, according to their tour blog, I'm a safe promoter, errrr cheers?) and Ox. Eagle. Lion. Man. who were slightly less excited (they were a bit cooler and that) but certainly a good band and nice folks too boot. All in all a great night, thanks to all who came.

Anyway, here's my good music/other stuff for the week. But before I do, I've been watching television recently, apart from the occasional late night repeat of my favourite movies, it sucks. Ass. And a small note to Channel 4 - Sundays shall never be the new Fridays, plus less shite chat shows and more Peep Show, thanks.

Music:

Neutral Milk Hotel
Subtle
Slow Club
Most Serene Republic
Sam Isaac
Why?

Other stuff:

David Letterman's opening monologues
Naked Gun 2 1/2 (sample line: Leslie Neilson - 'can you describe the suspect?' Woman - 'white guy, had a moustache, 6 foot 3.' Leslie Neilson - 'that's a pretty big moustache')
2 player Guitar Hero
Ghostbusters 2 (It's all about the sequels this week)
Mojitos (cocktails at the GRV in general)

I'm coming to The Twilight Sad show - I've been a friend and fan of Meursault's for a couple of years now.

They are fucking serene.

Broken Records also supporting. I am happy.
