Here's the current news in ETB land...

The CD release for our new album "Blues Bullets" is scheduled for June 23rd @ Antone's here in Austin.  The next day we'll be leaving on tour for a hair less than a month.  We're excited.  The CD is sounding pretty good and the van just got some much needed repairs, so we aren't as worried about the transmission falling out in St. Louis or something awkward like that...

We are all still a little shocked by our dear friend Clifford Antone's passing but we had a great time at his memorial last Wednesday at the club playing with Carson Alexander (young badass) and Alan Haynes (older badass) and then finishing out with A.J. Vallejo and me cutting heads (that was seriously fun AND badass). It was great to see how many people showed up to show their respect for Clifford and his tireless work in the music community.  It's interesting to note just how much Clifford has done. 6th street would be just another street in Austin without him. Austin wouldn't be the live music capital of the world. And we would have all had to go through life without the blessing of knowing someone so kind and generous.

In other news, Russell, our trusty sound engineer and one-man-security-team is now playing guitar and mandolin in a local Austin band on his nights off... On Tuesday nights you can catch him melting faces onstage with "Nowhere Texas" at the Velvet Spade on Red River.  I'll probably see you there...

Until next time,
be good...

Clifford Antone was a great man.

He was very well known and this community surely has been blessed by his presence while he was on this earth.

May he rest in peace, as he has certainly done plenty of good work here in Austin.

I thought of you guys when I heard about Clifford.

I will be sure to tell Russell's cousin Cole that he should go check Russell out.

I have missed so many shows being good and focusing on getting the future built just right.

Too many nights at home for me - I hope to catch a show sometime.

Good luck in all you do.

I can't wait for that CD man...I want to send a thousand kudos to the memory of Cliff. I can't describe the feeling I got when I heard of his passing-he helped create the city I know and love so much and helped nurture the blues in the heart of Austin and in the heart of all of those gracious and lucky enough to call this place home. I'll never experience the pleasure of knowing him-but I'll always cherish the pleasures he created. With that said-I want to thank you Eric, Allen, Doug and Russell for helping to keep blues alive and well in Austin. Your hard work and full out dedication to your craft is an inspiration to me as an aspiring musician-I try to see you guys as much as possible and plan to for as long as I can. Blues on!
