Line up changes and the future...
You may have noticed that Dark Matter have gone through a few line up changes recently, well maybe just drummer changes.
Firstly we parted ways with our long standing drummer, Neale Williamson. It was a sad occassion but Neale's growing work commitments eventually took its toll and we had to part ways. Great drummer, good pal but dodgy taste in man bags!!!
Then we had Terry Thomson. At 7 feet 2 inches tall we had difficulty fitting this Titan of a drummer into gigs. He would deafen people with his sheer brutallity on the kit. Terry's drumming style resembled Bush's "shock and awe" tactics in Iraq.
Terry parted ways due to family commitments.
Now it's time for our new drummer, Will Shiels. Will played in Dark Matter for a while in the beggining but had to leave due to personal reasons but he's back and better than ever. The amount of energy this guy's drumming puts into the band is incredible and mixed with his tight, punchy technique and incredible rolls and fills makes for an awe inspiring performance.
Now the future...
We've always talked about attempting our own stuff, put it off, then put it on again but now we're cooking with gas. Our first two songs are now a work in progress and hopefully should be completed soon... watch this space!!!
