Sometimes people jump out and do something incredibly sweet and unexpected. It's so heartwarming when someone does something unasked to help someone they don't know.

It's been snowing like crazy here. It's actually been a rather snowy winter so far. In other words ~ sucky.

This morning when I got home I was fully of energy, so I swept off the front steps. Well, I did as much as I could until my fingers froze. I didn't have any mittens, so I did a quick job of it.

This afternoon we had to go out and run errands. I shoveled the steps - and fell in a snow bank. Alkivar cleaned off the car. Ellie was shoveling out behind the wheels of the car so it would be easier to pull out. Alkivar was in the car heating it up at that point.

A pickup with a small plow in the front pulled onto our road. I told Ellie to get out of the road so she didn't get hit. As soon as she was on the sidewalk with me, the pickup swerved in behind the car with his plow. He backed up and made another swipe as close to the car as he could without hitting it.

When he was done he honked, waved and headed on his way up the street!

Ellie did two tiny little shovels worth so the car could pull out without a problem, then put the shovel inside.

We climbed into the car all aglow. It was so nice to see someone go out of his way to do something nice for someone he didn't know. It didn't take more than a minute out of his time, but took more than ten minutes of back breaking work out of Ellie's life.

Normally I have a huge distain for humans on a whole. But, when people do things like that, it just restores my faith that there are SOME decent people in the world.
