It's official! Tickets to the More Than A Zodiac Sign / Let Us Love New Year's Eve Bash are now on sale! We're selling tickets through Front Gate Tickets for $15 ($20 DOS, $5 for parents accompanying their children at the door only). The concert will be held at The Max on December 31st, 2009 and everyone is encouraged to come in costume (dressed as your favorite musician). There will be a costume contest and a red carpet backdrop where you can take pictures with your friends.

I'm also going to take this chance to announce the line-up. The Salutation, The Hit, and Red Car Wire will kick off the night with more bands (TBA) and Kyle Burns of Forever the Sickest Kids will help us ring in the new year with an amazing DJ set at the end of the night!

One of our lovely sponors, Subaru of America, will have a car display at the show so you can feast your eyes on some pretty sweet rides.

As many of you know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Gender: A woman is 100 times more likely to develop breast cancer than a man is.
Age: A person’s risk of developing breast cancer increases with age.
Personal History: Women who have had breast cancer (or other breast diseases) may develop cancer again.
Family History: If a woman’s close relatives have had breast cancer, her risk increases. It is very important to know the age at which these relatives were diagnosed.
The Breast Cancer Genes: “Individuals who inherit an alteration in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene are at an ‘inherited’ higher risk for breast cancer.”

The best available method for detecting breast cancer is mammography, but doctors use MRIs in some cases. Monthly breast-self exams are also recommended.

Visit www.nbcam.org or www.cancer.org for information about how you can help prevent breast cancer and school yourself on early detection methods.

As always, remember that cancer is More Than A Zodiac Sign.
