Well, it has been 2 years, 1 month and 4 days since I moved in with Jesse.  I am thrilled to announce that it is finally official..my permanent resident status has been approved and my Green Card arrived in the mail today!  Phew!  What this has meant, is that without one it was not legal for me to re-enter the USA while my case was pending..meaning of course, that I have not been home to Canada since I left.  It has been trying but I kept reminding myself that it was a temporary situation and that it would be worth it!  I was right!  This will be my first Christmas home in 2 years...the last two years my family cae across the border and we met at a hotel in Michigan for a busy, hurried two nights.  Now, I will be able to take my wonderful husband home this holiday season and show him how my family celebrates...it includes an endless stream of friends, family, parties, singing, dancing, drunken charades, food, drink and lots of laughter.  Now that my Christmas wish has been answered...I decided it was okay to add a few "wants" to my list this Christmas:

1. Molson Canadian Beer.  Real Beer.  Strong Beer.  I will be drunk off of one given that my body has become accustomed to the much lower alcohol content of American Beer, however, I still intend imbibe several.

2. Harvey's hamburgers.  Yum.  I miss them

3. Tim Horton's Iced Cappucino.  At 600 calories, I will have one, just one.

4. A trip to the cosmetics department at Shoppers Drug Mart.  Canadian beauty products await me..specifically the Marcel line of mascara and lipsticks!

5. Le Chateau and Winners.  My fave stores for funky, cool clothes and shoes!

6. Boston Pizza and Luciani's Pizza..hmm..I am sensing a theme!

7. The Liquid Lounge and Jackhammers.  My fave party spots!


I am so freaking excited, I wish we could leave tomorrow...alas, we are booked every weekend until Christmas so I will make do with a countdown!
