It's been a great New Year with the birth of our son, Samuel Berlin Parsons on January 5th! He's a cute little guy that must get his good looks from his mom.
So, may I introduce you to our beautiful son, Samuel!
MUSIC on the move...
"The US Rails is a collective of songwriters, singers and musicians who met originally in the Philadelphia area but have since scattered all over the map to France, Germany and Austin, TX. Most of the members of US Rails were originally ¾ of the Philadelphia group 4 Way Street. Scott Bricklin, Ben Arnold, Joseph Parsons and drummer Matt Muir are now carrying on the tradition with the addition of their good friend and slide guitar master Tom Gillam. With a batch of new songs and recordings made one late fall in a cottage south of Paris, France; a couple deep breaths, a few plane tickets and some rehearsals, we're glad to be bringing these songs to life on stage for a few select shows in April. We'll tell the rest of The US Rails story then".
Touring
I will start a SOLO tour at the end of April as I'll be able to get to a few place I haven't played in a while as the band usually won't fit. I'm also doing a few House Concerts as it's a great way to really unplug! I'm hoping to come to the UK and south to Spain & Italy this year. Any advice or help is much appreciated!

Last year I bought the new Daniel Lanois CD (Here Is What Is) as a download. What a great artist! What also drew me to it was the way I bought it. It was an all digital (NOT MP3's) high definition audio tracks download. The same as from the original CD. I love it! I can burn my own Hi-Def CD or convert to MP3's, or do whatever I want with it. And no packaging, shipping or more 'stuff' in my life. And the artists maintain control of the quality.
So, I created my new releases ('Heavens Above' & 'Falling') to be offered this way. Except, I added the original Hi-Def(300dpi), printable Artwork too. You get a folder with all the songs and artwork downloaded to your computer. And frankly, it's how I'd rather you hear these songs instead of a lower quality MP3. I love technology, especially when it helps to reduce our carbon footprint AND make our lives less cluttered. So, if you like this sort of thing, CHECK IT OUT!

I've taken down the Forum from my website as it became a magnet for spammers. I threatened to do it a couple years ago, but a wonderful fan offered to manage it. Still it became too much and I'm thankful for the community that was built within it. Maybe a better mousetrap soon...
