APRIL 2006 (NACA Tour / Colorado-Nebraska)
April 18 (Headed West)
14 hours in the car today. The drive was........long........flat.
April 19 (University of Nebraska, Kearney)
My first dose of Nebraska wind. I opened the front door of my car and the entire paper contents of the front seat, all my maps/directions got sucked out like a scene from Wizard of Oz. I couldn't even chase them. They crossed the state line 2.3 seconds later. UNBELIEVABLE!
Had a blast playing my show. I could definitely get used to this. Done at 2pm, no gallons of cigarette smoke inhaled, great audience, thanks Kearney for the welcome and for digging the original music. Great campus. Thanks too to the ladies in the lunch room for the feast.
April 20 (Crescent Moon Cafe, Lincoln NE)
A larger version of my favorite outdoor venue at home, the Beer Garden at Great Lakes Brewing Company. Great courtyard vibe in between tho old buildings with people hanging out there windows looking down. After my show they had a writer's open mic. The first kid was really good. Great songs. Wish I could have stayed later and didn't have to get to Colorado. Thanks to the guys from the Brewery down the street that came down and brought their friends and to everyone for the generous send-off. Lincoln is a nice town. I'm gonna stay here tonight.
(The Small but Big World of Great Lakes Brewery)
My favorite beer maker and the generous sponsor of my CD Release back in July 2005. Some folks from Lincoln saw my show poster and saw the Great Lakes Brewing Company sponsor logo on the bottom corner. They all showed up wearing Great Lakes Brewing Company t-shirts that they bought when they came to Cleveland last year and visited the brewery. They came out because they saw the logo on the poster. God I love when that happens.
Off to Denver
April 21
A weekend in the mountains with my girl, Sheri who arrives in Denver this morning. Off to Breckenridge.

April 22 (Arvada, CO - The D Note)
Opened for Melissa Ivey tonight, a great singer/songwriter from the Denver area who just released a new single. It's been a great year for discovering new venues and this one is my new favorite room. Great room and a great draw. Check out Melissa Ivey at www.melissaivey.com
April 24 (Aurora, CO)
Thanks for coming out to the show........both of you. LOL
April 27(Back to Nebraska)
Witnessed a sunset that I'll never forget last night driving through central Nebraska. I wrote a song on the steering wheel of my car while driving (being Nebraska, it's not like I had to turn the wheel). It just poured out.
Listing to K.T. Tunstall all the way through Nebraska. Just saw her at the House of Blues in Cleveland. She's fantastic.
Kudosto Nick Freeland for lining up three shows in a day. Somehow we pulled it off and I made it to all three. Music is alive in Nebraska (Grand Island, Hastings, Columbus) Thanks to Hastings for the radio spin and the great intro.
Thanks EVERYONE for buying CDs and coming out to shows.
