A Workshop with DANIELA IVANOVA
Daniela Ivanova is an accomplished professional folk dance teacher and performer. She is also a very gifted choreographer and researcher of South Slavic folk dance culture. She was a full-time teacher in choreography and co-founder of the Medena Pitka school ensemble. She was artistic director for the Tropanka folk dance group of New Bulgaria University, choreographer of the Zornitza University students' folk ensemble, and a choreographer of other student ensembles in the regions of Banat and Besarabia. With these ensembles, she has toured France, Israel, Romania, Malta, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Mongolia and the USA.
The Richmond International Folk Dnce Club will be hosting her workshop, "Songs & Dances of Bulgaria," from 7 to 10pm on Friday, April 24, 2009, at Dumbarton Elementary School, 9000 Hungary Springs Rd, in Richmond, VA. The suggested door donation is $10.
