Sometimes we are tragically mistaken. Have you found yourself in that place?
A convention center full of confusion where every booth is selling something temporal and gray, something you don't want but you're fooled into buying?

A moment when conscience fails in struggle with compromise.

It is almost as though we're so inactive we embrace immorality just so we can feel alive.
It is almost as though we're just waiting for Jesus to come back, and while we're waiting were inviting other people to wait with us. But we're not really living, we're watching clocks.

We forget what Jesus said life is…

When we read his life story we find this vibrant activist. A man determined. We find this person who knew he had no time for compromise. This man lived his life drenched in purpose. We see a man who lived and breathed among the world but he remained separate. He spent all of his time with the lost and weak but he lived in a way that glorified his father God.

He found a balance between spending time with others without taking part in things that would only hinder his purpose.

We, as his followers, seem to forget why we are here after we begin following. We get in the heaven line and in our spiritual boredom we begin living a lifestyle that no longer speaks purpose, and instead of living a life full of adventure and risk for God, a life separate from this world, we become just like everyone else. We no longer stand out.

We become so deceived after being so spiritually bored that we begin making compromises and excuses for the things that briefly make us feel alive again.

Imagine if God placed you on a stage in front of thousands of lost people and you could not use words to reach them with the gospel, you could only demonstrate through action who Jesus was… the only catch was that you had to do all of the things you do while no one is watching while trying to show them who Jesus was. As these people began to watch you having sex and abusing substances while trying to show them who God was they would completely miss any sign of you being separate from the world.

They would completely miss seeing God in you.

Our life with Christ is meant to be one separate from the world. Interacting with and helping those in the world but living differently then they do. We are meant to be so consumed with helping others and spreading Gods love and continuing Christ's purpose on earth that we have no time to embrace anything else. We are meant to be full of life and purpose, filled with the love and truth of God and delivering that Love and that truth as a full time job to those around us. Jesus made his full time job making earth more like heaven, should we not make that our purpose as well? Should we not get out of the heaven line and begin taking risks for God? Should we not live differently? Who have we become and who are we meant to be?

I have been the bored man in the heaven line.
I have been the broken man on that stage.

And I am tired of watching clocks.

Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
[James 1;27]

And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
[Romans 12;2]
