Hello,
This week, out on the road, was one of the best/worst times. We started out in Johnson City, TN. Where we met one of the nicest guy's, Brandon. Brandon had drove 2 hours just to see us. We ended up not playing the show for lack of orginization with the venue. Brandon was really nice about the cancelation and so were the others that showed up to watch. Thank you for that. We still went out and had a great time and met some really good people. This made us look forward to the next time we come through Johnson City. Thanks.
The next night we played in Knoxville, TN. We have played Knoxville alot over the last few years and love to play the town. On the way to the venue, we decided to stop by the zoo. Where none of us have been since we were 5 or 6. I don't remember the zoo being that much fun. We saw everything we wanted to see. We saw chimp's fight and a spider monkey that entertain's better than anyone I have ever seen. After we headed to the venue. When we pulled up there was a festival going on at Market Square, which is where the venue is that we were playing. We decided to grab some accoustics and play on the sidewalk to kill some time. It was fun and the 1st time we have ever done this. Alot of people enjoyed it, considering there was no music going on at this festival, other than the radio and some muscians playing on the street, like us. We finally made our way to the venue. Where as we are loading in, the manager tells us we can't play because two of us don't have our I.D.'s with us. We finally talk her into letting us play under one condition. We don't drink. We started playing and about the third song, somebody bought us some drinks and put them on the stage. We did not order or drink these drinks but, thanks. As we are playing the 5th song of the night, the manager walks on stage and throws away all the drinks. Looks at us and tells us one more song and you are done. We played one more song and had to put in some unfriendly words, then we were done. Which Brandon from the night before, drove to Knoxville to hear us again. Because of all the traffic from the festival and the manager, only got to hear one song. We decided to take him out on us, we had a great time that night and hope he did the same. We talked all of the problem's, out with the owner, and have been invited back.
The next day we were scheduled to play a music festival in Birmingham, AL. On the way our closest friend, Lila Mae, decided she was going to run a fever. Our van overheated, 6 exits before our exit. We coasted to the gas station, got some fever reducer in her, and made it to the show. Where we had a great time and are looking forward to Wednesday at the Bottletree.
Through all the problems we had over the weekend, we had alot of fun and met alot of great people, that we hope to see again. We will be playing at the Bottletree in Birmingham, AL, this Wednesday, and hope to see you there. Maybe there will be another story to talk about. Hopefully a good one.
