While in SB, my buddy and I went to an old restaurant he use to manage called Fat Cat(pictured above) and I had one of the best meals of my entire life. I am normally not a seafood guy, but I had so many unbelievably delicious flavors and textures. Who knew black cod could taste so yummy or the caviar served on potato pancakes with potato salad. Oysters, not so much, but the cherry infused whiskey drink was excellent at washing them down. The most interesting of all things was the sea urchin, which I didn't know you could eat. They cut out a circle at the top of it and serve it to you in a bowl of ice. There are tiny “fillets” in the hollowed out center that you can eat. The weird thing is though while you pick at it's insides is the black quills are still moving (you can see it in the foreground of the photo.) They react to touch, so even after two hours of sitting there with us scooping out its guts you can play with it and it still moves. Yummy Delicatessen!
