It's unofficially "official."  Sen. Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States of America.

I'll have more to say as time goes on, but let me say this very quickly.  I have already gotten emails and messages of despair.  No matter who is President of the United States, we are the greatest nation on Earth.  I say, "we are the greatest nation on Earth" because it is the hard working, talented and brave people of this nation that make this country great....not the President......

Well Trent you've got more faith than i do, my friend. It was nearly a landslide. I really do fear the hard left direction this great nation is taking. Even if we conservatives have the better idea's, if they don't "fall in line" with the "new thinking" all we're going to be refered to is fear mongerers. I really fear that once this new admin.. kicks in, there is going to be no turning back. The extremists in this country, now own the table, and are not just looking for a seat At the table. Signed: Don Rouselle....A now...very disillutioned conservative

I agree 100%.
We've had president's in the past we don't care for or agree with but we all know it's the people who make this country run & we always manage to get through it and no matter what, we're still Americans!

I totally agree with you -- America will be great as long as we stay engaged!! Stay tuned to the new media.

Question rigorously anything the old media says for they will have a blind spot regarding the democrats and the One they anointed.

Support the new blogs and talk radio. It would have been worse, a landslide, had it not been for all the work the new media did to uncover Obama's real nature. The journalists did not do their jobs during the primaries when Clinton was newly on the scene; and failed to uncover any of the sleaze in Clinton's closet until too late.

This time, their editors made sure the reporters were never sent to look into any of the unbelievable garbage in right out in plain sight of Obama.

I'm truly saddened and very worried because we endured Carter and know how really badly a well-intentioned lefty president with a democrat congress can botch things up. The past two years of nancy pelosi's house paired with harry reid's senate has killed our livelihood to where we are almost out on the street as it is.

But we lived through Carter; we can do it again. Stay here and fight with us to keep the media honest and get the government back on course.

God bless us all. God bless the patriots of America. God bless America.

I know we live in the greatest nation on earth, but I am scared! Anything Obama wants he is going to get! With the Democrats having the majority in the house, the Senate and the White House,we are in for an up hill battle! The conservatives are going to have to do something so in two years,we can vote a lot of these Democrats out of the house! I have never felt this scared after a Democrat won the White House! We as conservatives have to get back to our conservative roots and come back fighting!!!

I'm very depressed right now, my friend. I think that, first and foremost, the Republican Party needs to start looking like Republicans again. We need to go back to our basic platform of limited federal government. We need a Goldwater-esque revolution in the ranks.

In the last eight years I've watched my party stray from the principles I was brought up with in my GOP family.
I've seen the party ignore the constitution- the very foundation of our nation!

And the people have spoken. Blindly. Without logic or reason. They reacted to the last eight years by voting in a Marxist.

May their chains rest lightly upon them.

But yes, now is the time for the GOP to get back to the party that I know once existed, even if its only in a distant memory. The next four years are going to be hell on earth for liberty loving Americans...and it will be damn confusing for those who think Obama will bring sunshine and unicorns to Washington. I know this country has seen darkness in the past and that we've gotten through it...we have to get through this.

Trent, I really wish there were more people like you.

Hopefully when we are more united, we will be able to recruit better and win back the majority in the house or senate at least. I think the dems are going to implode. their scream for power the last decade is finally at hand for them, be careful what you ask for, you might get it.

Its by the "sweat of the brow" that this nation was founded and it will be by no less than hard work and the character of those that are willing to work for what they believe in.

Trent makes a good arguement. Its time we "put on our big girl panties" and DEAL WITH WHAT IS AT HAND! As it stands, the liberals are running the country for the next two years minimum. We better pull together and stand on what we know to be right and maybe in 2010, the checks and balances system can be turned to our favor.

You got that right Trent, and think about this , Barack will be privy to information today that no one else but those in charge will know about. He is in for a rude awakening, and maybe it will change his outlook on things that are important to us from now on.

I have proudly flown our Flag in front on my house for 35 years. But today I have lowered it to half mast. It will remain that way until this nightmare is finished.

This is a day of true historical tragedy, when history's greatest nation of its own free will decided to commit suicide for no good reason whatsoever, an act of inexplicable mass insanity.

Yet this is not a time for bitterness or anger. It is, instead, a time to shrug.

Those of you who have read Ayn Rand's great work of prophecy, Atlas Shrugged, know what I am talking about. Those of you who don't, read it - now. Over 50 years ago, she predicted what is happening at this moment - only this is far worse than even she imagined.

In Rand's other great novel, The Fountainhead, the villain, Ellsworth Toohey, asks the hero, Howard Roark, what he thinks of him. Roark gives him a puzzled look and answers, "I don't think of you at all.
"

That is exactly what I propose we do regarding the Marxist Hate-America Gangster who was just elected by a majority of American voters to lead them to their doom. In fact, I hereby forswear my mention of his name in To The Point.

He is not my president. I owe neither him nor his government any loyalty. I do not recognize his authority over me. I shall obey the laws of his government and shall not advocate anything illegal, not out of any patriotic duty but solely because his government and its goons have the guns to kill me if I do not obey.

For henceforth however, I shall refer to him only as Not My President: NMP for short.

Respect and patriotism for a country and its people must be earned. It cannot be granted with a blank check, paid out no matter what it and they do. As of this day, I have lost my respect for a majority of the American people and my patriotism for the country I once loved so deeply.

If America wishes to regain my respect, loyalty, and patriotism, it must re-earn it. Until it does, my loyalty is restricted to my family - which includes my family and close friends.

The assault on both by NMP and his Gangster Government will be extreme. The government's finances, for example, is like a pyramid balanced on its point, with 1% of taxpayers paying almost 40% of taxes. Their money has already begun to flood out of the country. When enough of them do this, the pyramid falls down, and the fascist assault on anybody's wealth begins.

I know there are folks like Michelle Malkin who want us to "gird our loins" and fight for a free America. But the reality is that a substantial majority of Americans decided yesterday they don't want a Free America, they want a Fascist America.

Granted, they may be too stupid, thanks to public education, to know what they voted for, but that's just the stupidity that allows fascism to establish itself.

The reality is that the path of freedom versus fascism is almost always one way: towards fascism. Take a look at the past seventy years. With FDR's New Deal, America became less free and never regained the freedom it had before him. With LBJ's Great Society, the same thing. Finally we got our Churchill, Ronald Reagan - who won the Cold War, yet nonetheless could not eliminate one single government agency.

But with NMP, we are in a whole new dimension of danger, of outright Brown Shirt fascist thuggery. Let's be very clear here. There was wild mass enthusiasm by Germans for Adolf Hitler who elected him Chancellor in 1933. Very few thought it was in their obvious interests to get out of Germany or otherwise protect their assets and freedom - even Jews.

We conservatives are about to become the new Jews - hated, reviled, persecuted, despised, outlawed and criminalized. The worse it gets - and the economy is going to get much worse - the more NMP and those who voted for him will need scapegoats, who are us.

The terrible truth, the ugly reality, is that our country has been headed towards fascism for a long time - slowly, step by step, until finally here we are, at the end of the road where there's a sign reading Welcome to NMP's America.

We conservatives are now Strangers In Our Own Land.

So - is that it? Are we - is freedom in America - finished? Of course I hope not. But it does not depend on what we do - for we are up against mass hysteria, against which reason and evidence are useless.

The only hope is that NMP will overreach and fail so disastrously that those hysterical millions who voted for him will be shaken out of their trance and come to their freedom-loving senses.

It would be nice to solace ourselves with the hope that this fascist, seemingly Anti-Christ nightmare may be short-lived: just four years and then we’ll elect Sarah Palin and America will be America again!

From a conservatives standpoint, all I have to say is now the ball is in the democrats court...I predict the 18 percent approval rating of a democratic congress will magnify, and after about a year of blaming Bush for everything, people will finally wise up and say "Hey we elected you to "fix" our country, not play the blame game." anyway, I was tortured because the only channel I had (Afghanistan) to watch the election on was ABC, Diane Sawyer made me want to vomit when she attempted to compare Obama to MLK jr. (YACK)...I do hope Obama is smart enough to leave Bob Gates as SecDef

I never saw an election before that made me want a recount so bad. I feel ACORNed. I feel robbed. I feel SO disappointed. I go days without saying anything about it. It really feels like one of those old Soviet elections where you already knew that the Party or the Politburo or whoever had decided who was going to win before there was a vote.

Okay. Now I can go some more days without saying anything.

Would some of y'all brave Patriot Christians, whose accounts don't accept friend requests from bands, please send me a friend request? I definitely think there is going to be strength in numbers needed for the next four years. I never asked anyone to unite with me "against" a President before, but against him I am, and against him I must remain; the election is past, and America LOST. If we can somehow put a muzzle on that guy who won, and keep him and his Che Guerrera looking friends from eating us up, we should DO so, in the interest of keeping this Nation truly American.

PCT,

Thanks for adding me a while back. I have actually watched you more on Facebook & was glad to see that you were also here. You are correct that we are the greatest nation. Should anyone have a doubt about it (especially here), go check out "The Americans" by George Sinclar. For those who profess to be Christians and are not praying for our leaders, now may be a good time to start.
