Yes, it's finally done. I'm only putting up the notes and lyrics for the first two in this post, the other four are in the archives :)

1. Through The Looking Glass
2. Reflections
3. The House Of My Fathers
4. Star-Cross'd Brothers (Sons Of Orion mix)
5. Slip On The Mask (Somnus mix)
6. New Recruits

1. Through The Looking Glass

Who is this about? Okay, it's obvious, it was originally completely non-specific but over time it became either Snape or Dumbledore circa Philosopher's Stone. Blame fanfic. In my defense, it was pretty awesome fanfic. It's also kind of allegorical in places? hmm.

The glass is cold and smooth to the touch
What lies beneath it will swallow you up
The ache in your soul you didn't know you had
Stands tall before you, it's driving you mad

What kind of demon would make such a thing
Full of dreams and desires that can never take wing
An intricate torture or misguided help
You'll end up wasting away and losing yourself

Chorus:
And you'll live in this mirror
As if you were on the other side
Kisses that fall on cold dead lips
And things lost through bitter pride
You can't live this way
But you know that you will stay
If you can't tear yourself away

You've been like this for years, who is it you can't forgive?
It's become clear you forgot how to live
It'll take all your strength to give it up now
But you've got things to do, so remember how

Chorus

2. Reflections

aka "Severus Snape, This Is Your Conscience Speaking". Not much else to say about it, really.

You know your friends are not your friends
And your soul's not your own
You're stuck inside so many masks
And you go home alone
Stand under streetlights flickering
With that synthetic glow
You've changed into somebody
She'll never want to know

Chorus:
You can kill with two quick words
And brew up fame or lust
She's the scar upon your heart
And you're not one to trust
You see her face in every crowd
Deserve the pain inside
And someday she'll be dead and gone
And you'll be left with lies...

It's been so long since you heard a word
Of courtesy or praise
You know the deeds that you do now
Will chase you to your grave
You'd follow her to hell and back
Her words haunt your nights
This is the blood that won't wash off
It's not easy, it's not right

Chorus

All your skill and subtlety
Can't protect you from the blow
The path you follow isn't safe
It's the only one you know
So close your eyes and dream again
Pretend you didn't fall
Love's a fool when hate is king
It isn't real at all

Chorus

Wow! Your lyrics are so poetic and tragically beautiful! Really well-written. Brilliant lyrics!!! Coincidentally, I recently wrote a fan fic about Snape and the mirror of Erised. But your song could also be about Dumbledore. There are really quite a lot of similarities between the two of them if you think about it, which you obviously have and, since DH came out, I've thought Dumbledore was pretty hypocritical and I don't like him nearly as much as before. Frankly I think he was kind of a jerk in the way he manipulated and used Snape and Harry. There are some really interesting comparisons between Snape and Dumbledore's lives (and lies). For example, Snape turned away from the dark side because of Lily's death. If she hadn't died, he would have remained a DE all his life. Dumbledore turned away from the dark side because of his sister's death. If she hadn't died, he might not have turned away from the dark side either and might have become a very powerful dark wizard, along with Grindelwald. So, would they have changed if these deaths had not occured? And for that matter, would Narcissa have lied to Voldemort if he hadn't put Draco's life in danger and would Regulus have tried to destroy the locket horcrux if Voldemort hadn't tried to kill Kreacher? Would any of these characters have changed if their loved ones had never been threatened and/or killed? We'll never know for sure, unless Rowling tells us, but perhaps these examples prove that anyone capable of love, no matter what kind (romantic, brotherly, maternal, friendship) is redeemable in Rowling's opinion, but someone like V, who is completely incapable of love or remorse is not. What do you think? And then where does that put Bellatrix who has some kind of love/obsession with V and even some love for her sister Narcissa, and maybe even her nephew Draco, but certainly has no love or mercy for anyone else? Maybe if Bellatrix had had a child she would have been different. Afterall, it seems pretty obvious that Narcissa would have died (like Lily), if it was necessary to protect her son. Would Bella have died for anyone except V? Sorry for getting majorly off topic, but those questions have been bothering me a long time and I needed to get them off my chest. Sorry. Anyway, brilliant songs! Wrock on!

The Knockturn Alley Project

Why did I not notice this sooner?

I'll have to rectify this TERRIBLE SITUATION in a manner most...well, ludicrous, probably.
