Over the years we've notice that our demo "From Which of This Oak" has regularly appeared on Ebay. We want to make our fans aware that we only made 200 copies of this cassette demo. As everyone knows, cassettes are easy to reproduce. Our inlay jacket was b/w, which is also easy to reproduce. However, the original cassette included a sticker on a factory-produced cassette that looked like this:
..Photobucket">
..Photobucket">

Included in the first picture is also the "Promo 98" demo.

If you bid on our demo, you are probably taking a very big risk. Make sure any pictures show the whole cassette. Although, of course, the sticker on the cassette is also reproducible, but probably not as easily reproduced as everything else.

On this same note, there have been numerous bootlegged shirts/hoodies lately as well (not the recent End Records ones). Shirts are easy to make and then sell. We do not endorse any unofficial merchandise or recordings. We've always prided ourselves on trying to produce the highest quality merchandise and the best sounding albums we can. Chances are these shirts and bootlegged recordings, both demos and any live performances, are of low quality.

Thanks,
AGALLOCH

I always check time and time again when bidding on something on Ebay, especially something that I know is rare like this above me. But I also know many people who have been tricked by the same people, not good at all. But I don't see it stopping.

On another note, what are your feelings on people sharing live performances with one another (not selling them) ? I know there are probably a high number of musicians on both sides, but I was just curious as to what you thought. Official releases are a different story of course.

When people ask if they can film or tape our shows, it is fine so as long as we can get a copy and that they won't show up as a crappy bootleg later on. Sharing live Cdrs, videos is cool. Selling them for high prices on Ebay is not.

Damn now that makes me wonder if the shirt I purchased on e-bay was a fake? It was An Ashes Against The Grain t-shirt with the bird in the front under the word Agalloch. With lyrics from the album wriiten on the back that started off saying The God Of Man Is A Failure.

Your shirt is an official one, released by The End Records in 2006 with the album release.

That's really shit ! well i have everything from you guys but i always wanted to listen to the promo versions of these songs, is there any way to listen to them?
would be cool to have them as bonus tracks on future releases or if you may do it legally can upload these promo versions for fans?
it would be really nice and we don't have to bid for some tapes which could be bootlegs about 150 us $.

The Midnight Wolf

I, personally, have a live recording of you guys at the Portland show in November of 2006 on my page, but only because I took a long trip to get up there and I like to have it around to watch every now and then. It is also a nice way to share that experience with friends who may not have been able to have the pleasure of seeing one of your live performances. I do so with the utmost respect for the art, not for money.

-The Wolf

On another note.... I would love it if I were able to get my hands on a real (re-release???) copy of From Which of This Oak. It would please the soul....

Just wait, someone in South America will kindly release all of your material on uber-kvlt 180 gram vinyl with a crappy photo-shopped sleeve soon enough.

I don't mind so much if it's done to Mutiilation or Vlad Tepes...

You probably already know this, but there have been a few screenprinted patches/backpatches around Portland. I will admit that I made those, but never with the intent to make money off them. I made them for myself, but made a few extra for close friends. I always wondered if the band would be upset with this.

Thanks for reminding the audience for this. I will under no circumstances place bids on those tapes. It will be nearly impossible for us to stop this sales unless people stopped buying. Anyone supporting honest work empowered with passion and effort put to it should also have the heart knowing that supporting piracy in any way is also proving disloyalty towards the band. ..
