Mantronik is in my opinion the (technically) best producer to ever touch Hip Hop, so versatile, innovative and ahead of his time. he's invented more Hip Hop production styles and techniques than most know. Check out the video link to this T La Rock track where he performs the first southern pitched 808 snare roll to my knowledge.

If you was a B Boy I can understand why you feel that way...

That's way back... I grew up on Rick Rubin and Dr. Dre... Teddy Riley... That's hard to say for me whos the best producer...

I said the best producer to ever touch Hip Hop, not all genres. And when I say that, I'm not saying he made the most classic songs, I'm referring more to the technical aspects of production such as beat chopping, mixing and innovation, technically this cat paved the way for so many sounds it's not funny.

if were talking about all genres, Pops (QJ) is def the man on that one, and yes, Jimmy and Terry are bananas. I posted this cause I don't feel Mantronik gets enough credit in the overall scheme, listen to Just Ice's Cold Gettin' Dumb...

I stand by saying that he is probably the most technically proficient producer to touch Hip Hop.

Real talk, in terms of mixing, even if you listen to the house stuff he's doing now, this cat was blessed with
talent to manipulate technology and mixing to a degree that is not to play with.

some people master their artform and mantronic is one with production equipment, i don't see anyone taking him out
with regards to knowing how to maximize equipment.

what people forget is that the video I posted is from 1986!!!!!!!!! end of story!

Remember, this is a time when everything had to be done manually, midi had just been invented, so when you listen to
the video I posted, he was light years ahead of his time.

The highest sample time on any sampler at that time was 10 seconds!

and synching up the samples and loops was a chore, so for him to make those records sounds like that back then is really a miracle, he is technically THE BEST IMO>

I REMEMBER HOW HE BLEW YOUR MIND WHEN YOU DISCOVERED HIM- AS THE TEKNIK FREAK YOU ALWAYS WERE-
YOU SAID HE WAS TOO INTELLIGENT TO WIN THE MASSES....THAT'S USUALLY SO WHEN ONE IS SPECIALIZED-OR DO SOMETHING FROM WITHIN-FOR YOURSELF- BUT THAT'S WHAT HOLDS UP IN TIME.
