Haven't posted in a while. Been practicing hardcore on many things. My Birthday just passed and they gave me a surprise party at the studio. Went out for sushi afterwards.
So here is this New Avengers cover. I flatted it for a colorist. (I guess flatter is where you start as a colorist?) But I'm painting it also for practice the way I paint at Nicktoons. So thats what you see above, all my color work on top of my own flats. I have yet to paint most of the characters in the "windows" or Dr Strange's left hand. And also the blue light hitting his skin. It will be interesting to see what the main guy Paul comes up with compared to what I got from my flats. I cant wait to compare.
Working on a Mac is bliss. I think I've hit the place where I have the tools I am comfortable with and an adequate skill level to use them properly? Must be if I got work. Who knows. I'm gonna polish off this wine bottle and make an omelette. I have an indie book I need to finish coloring anyhow. Taking a break form this piece tonight.
