Wideawake Death Row CEO Lara Lavi recently had the opportunity to check
out the Snoop Dogg/Slightly Stupid show featuring Daz and the Dogg
Pound crew, including
Kurupt, and Soopafly. But Lavi says the highlight of the evening was
watching The Lady of Rage on stage perform and then getting to meet and
talk to her at length after the show. "There is a presence to The Lady
of Rage I have never seen in most other female MCs," explains Lavi, " a
combination of toughness, truth and class. Like Queen Latifah, Rage is
one of the most authentic rappers of our time. It has been wonderful
reviewing her songs in the Death Row Vault for our upcoming releases
including The Chronic Re-Lit & From The Vault."
Lavi has expressed strong interest in supporting The Lady of Rage and
is kicking off her support by making sure there are some choice rare
releases included on the Re-Lit project coming September 1.
Lavi has also instructed Death Row's
publishing partner Evergreen Copyrights to find any and all
opportunities to get Rage's name and songs out there and placed in TV,
Film, ads and Gaming.
Maybe it is because they are both females in a male dominated business.
Maybe it is because Rage and Lavi just simply hit it off. Whatever the
reason,
expect plenty of upcoming music and news from the Death Row Vaults supporting The Lady of Rage. It's about time.
