Who Gives Kudos:

November 6, 2009 - Friday
Last month, as many of my readers might remember, I was fortunate enough to attend a Tori Amos show in Dusseldorf < Germany on a TNA night off. After Tori's show, while waiting with Awesome Kong for a potential meeting with Ms. Amos herself, Tori's tour manager asked me what size venues we were playing. I gave the matter a little though before replying, "we play to intimate audiences...in large venues."

Well, last night's comedy show in Worcester, Mass. may have been my most intimate show yet, with only a brave few dozen daring to set foot inside  the club. But, despite the small crowd, I think we gave everyone a show to truly enjoy. Bruce Prichard opened up the show with some great stories and dead on impersonations, and I really enjoyed trotting out new material to take for a ittle comedy ride. Sure, the small crowd could seem like a downer...IF it wasn't for the fact that I think we may really be on to something here. Look on this site in the next couple of days for video clips from the show.

I hope that many of you enjoyed my promo with Abyss tonight. I know I liked it. But next week is the show to watch, with the appearance of Super Dave Osbourne, the iconic comedy fixture, arriving at the Impact Zone to blatantly plug his upcoming Super Dave Spiketacular specials beggining November 14th. I have it on good faith that my big episode debuts on December 1st. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Impact with Super is priceless, especially the vignette in my office with me, Super, JB and Jay Lethal. Trust me, it's good stuff.

Talk to you in a few.
Sam

Definitely looking forward to the involvement with Super Dave and the comedy videos. I can imagine you guys working well on screen. Great to hear about it.

As if I needed more reason to watch TNA, you and the Motor City Machine Guns were enough to get me hooked.

I did enjoy your promo with Abyss last night and next week show sounds good and I can't wait to see you and Marty Funkhouser in a backroom segment. The other guy making a appearance also sounds pretty interesting. If you end up doing Foley/Abyss vs Dr. Stevie/Mystery guy(don't wanna spoil it) at Turning Point in some hardcore tag match it could be a fun match. What did you think of your match with Abyss at Bound for Glory?

I think the same thing for the Brokerage. The fact that it was a smaller audience made it better. I certainly enjoyed it nonetheless. :) Man, I missed Impact last night... I had to work. I'm sure it was wonderful though.

I'm going to try my best to make it to East Providence to see you tonight. If you see a huge guy with a goatee trying to hunt you down after the show, it'll most likely be me. :)

Hopefully you didn't run out to Providence, as the show isn't for a few more weeks.

Yeah, thanks. Keep in mind that when Jeff Jarrett left, I had absolutely no story line. So I was happy with the way it worked out.

Every comedian starts out with an "intimate crowd" the main thing was that despite how many were in the audience the people who WERE THERE enjoyed themselves. Just like in Wrestling if your entertaining a large SOLD OUT crowd in Madison Square Garden or a Bingo Hall, you go out there and you perform and give them you best. I CAN'T WAIT to see videos of the show. As always i'll definetly be checking iMPACT for SUPER DAVE meets SUPER FOLEY meets SUPER JB meets SUPER Lethal, lol.

Haha, intimate crowd is a good way to put it!  We've been experiencing a lack of ticket sales at our bouts as of recent thanks to our wonderous economy, but no matter how small the crowd, it's always worth it to hear their cheers :)  I'll skate to the sound of one person if I must!  And did I mention that you need to come to Sacramento?  Well, you do.

You know, JB and I were talking about doing a "Holiday Socktacular" the day before the December PPV - doing it as a fundraiser for "Give Kids the World" or a local Orlando group. We're just trying to find a place. Would be fun though.
