Current mood:  ecstatic

Last night, in Fresno, Ca, I expericed the most amazing thing in my entire life. It can even be called a religious experience of sorts. SO last night, the 20th of September, I saw the most amazing thing...NINE INCH NAILS in full blow concert.  That's right kiddies, I witnessed the man himself, on stage and in full effect.Everything was just amazing. Trying to put into words what I experienced the night prior is proving to be a difficult task. I'm trying not to come off like some scary freak or rambling idiot...but that just might be the ONLY way I can express what I felt when that music hit at 9:24pm...

it all felt like some surreal dream, I've been waiting to see that band in concert, but it never happened. Either too young or had no mode of transportation or the biggest set back, no money! It just seemed that my NIN concert wasn't met to be, and then it just happened. And it was seriously the best 2 hours of my life. That's right, they played a 2 hour set that was filled with 22 songs and killer stage presence. Trent commands the audiences attention with an iron fist, and takes it all in and manages to shove it all back to you tenfold. Aaron North, Jerome Dillion, Jeordie White and Alessandro [sorry, if I got his name wrong...it's hard to spell!] pour their everything into their performances and it's fucking amazing to witness. Especially Aaron, who runs around his side of the stage like a mad man, constantly running into amps and then throwing himself over them, and STILL continuously playing the songs. He's just awesome. And then there's Trent...

Trent just blows me away. Nothing that he's ever released has disapointed me. It's always been something that was well needed in that time of my life.

His performance was just fucking awesome. On key, in time, on tune, enthusiastic, angry, primal, fierce, dirty, wet and tense...everything I could say, well there probably wouldn't even be enough room for what I could say about the man! [haha] Constantly running around the stage, playing a guitar for a good 90f the songs, pouncing every band memeber that was in reach, jumping up and down and thrashing all over, pretty fucking awesome for a guy that just turned 40. Then the man proceeds to take his mic, which has an incredibly long cord, gather what he could of that cord, and proceeded to hurl the mic into the crowd of people, allowing those lucky bastards to sing along! And he did that Twice! I wanted to be those people! lucky, lucky fucks! But it was all made up for when the man came over to our side of the stage and sang for us. He was literally 7 feet infront of me, it was so fucking crazy! It was just the best. The energy of the band and the crowd, it was perfect, and everyone had a great fucking time. And as fast as it began, as much as I jumped up and down and screamed every word to every song at the top of my lungs and headbanged my way through it, it was over. I never wanted it to end, but unfortunately, the man and the rest of the band have lives that i'm pretty sure that they'd like to live, so they had to move on to their next destination. But for 2 hours, I didn't have a care in the world. I was in my rock n roll heaven and I didn't want to leave! But the house lights came up and I unfortunately had to come back to the real world.

Here's the set list:

Pinon
Love Is Not Enough
Wish
Terrible Lie
The Line Begins To Blur
March of the Pigs
The Frail / The Wretched
Closer [To The Only Time]
Burn
Gave Up
Eraser
Right Where It Belongs
Beside You In Time
You Know What You Are?
Sin
Only
Deep
Down In It
Hurt
The Hand That Feeds
Starfuckers, Inc.
Head Like A Hole

so in conclusion:

TRENT REZNOR IS MY MUSICAL JESUS.

and if it weren't for him, probably 80f these craptacular bands out today wouldn't even exist. He's a musical GENIUS. So your shitty band should bow down and pay the man the respect he deserves. And if you don't agree with that, well fuck you and have a nice day.  :-D [oh, take that one lightly people! But Trent is just that damn good.]

oh yeah, Autolux and Queens of the Stone Age played as well. Autolux was great and qotsa were awesome, they can jam!

Currently listening:
The Fragile

I'm glad you finally got to expericence NIN live. I agree with you that Trent is a musical genius. The first time I saw NIN back in 1995 I almost died from the excitment!
15 more days until I get to see "the man" again. I hope they play Deep for us folks in Chicago.

Keep Rockin'

FUCK YEAH.  The show I saw back in May was fucking amazing.  I wanted to hurl myself on stage and hump him like a dog.  Especially when they did Reptile.  Burn was amazing, too...  I'm surprised he didn't do Reptile at your show.  It seems to be one of his favorites.

I really wish I could make it down to atlanta... They're playing this Thrusday. Oh well.  I'll see him again... someday.  ;)

^ ^ ^ ^ lolypops, nor do i know you either - BUT... trent reznor is a mad man. insane in the membrain. Nine inch nails have been my all time favorite band for a good, 6 or so years now, and i can't, literally, get enough of them. im sure i've listened to just about every song [ and every remix for that matter ] and i still want more. so, with having heard all of the songs [ remixes, live, studio, regular ] the next best thing, is to beg your mom to take you to one of thier concerts. [ it was actually a friend who took me, she's a nin fan aswell BUT im sure there were alot of little, emo///industrial///goth kiddies who had to hitch a ride with thier mother. oh, i would-the-fuck-of. ] SO it  wasn't until the 24th, of Sept., 2005, that i had my Nine inch nails/live cherry broke. actually, raped. and thensome. seeing the man, not more then 20 or so feet away from me... it was lovely. seeing him with his bald little head, insane neck vains, those cooky little leather pants and those lovely black boots, it was lovely. i've seen my, And all that could have been live Nine inch nail dvd about 60 or so times, and each time, it gets better and better - AND to see it finally [ the live aspect of it, that is ] was just... to literally, fucking die for. i <3 the two, Trent and Jerome the most. knowing im just a begining drummer [ somewhat anyway. ] Jerome couldn't of come into my life any sooner or later to really show me the simplisity of drumming. and the love for it aswell. [ my heart literally goes out for mr. Jerome.] AS for good o'l Trent... well, there's really nothing about Trent to say, that hasn't already been said - HOWEVER i will say that good o'l Trent/Nine inch nails together, are a HUGE part in my life and without them, im 86% sure that without them, i could have NOT got from point a, to point b in some parts in my life. and for that, i thank all of them. NOT just Trent's sexy ass, but everyone. [ Chris vrenna, the original drummer for Nine inch nails, i belive - literally gets my heart aswell. ] EEEE.

He's pure Sex, Magic, Genius- that is MUSIC...and he has an edge that can't be described in an entirity. Honestly, I don't think Rez gets enough credit for his contributions to Art and Music. Pisses me off.

My 13th show on Sunday, and lemme tell ya...He just gets better and better as time goes on...I am already longing for the 14th...
