Howdy folks. Hopefully you have all survived the Holiday gluttony no worse for the wear (and you always wear it well). So here's a good way to start off the New Year: Music!

My buddy Mike Barnet (see our friends page) has been a force in independent music in Orange County for years. This guy is the only performer I ever saw get several command encores at one of our Space parties in Long Beach. The audience just wouldn't let him leave the stage...he's that good.

Now he's focusing his incredible energies into hosting a new TV program showcasing up and coming songwriters. Its called, appropriately enough, "OPEN MIC TV", and its airing on both cable and satellite networks on Sundays at 4pm, starting this weekend. Go to www.nuamericas.com for all the info.

This will be the second season for Open Mic TV. Last season it aired only on KVMD TV in Orange County, but now it will be carried on both the DirecTV and DISH networks as well. Pretty exciting stuff! Here's the lowdown:

OPEN MIC TV from Nuamericas
Sundays at 4pm
KVMD TV network
Time/Warner channel 23

also available on:
DirecTV Channel 31
DISH network 8021

In the past, this wonderful "little show that could" (and does) has featured many of my musical brethren and heroes. Previous shows included my bro Brett Bixby, SAS, Chris Karn of Deccatree, Sara Overall, and many others. My friend AJ DeGrasse will be appearing on the upcoming January 20th show! I really want to congratulate Mike Barnet on this new season, and say a huge THANK YOU, all in capital letters.

This season I have been lucky enough to be invited onto the show. My episode will air on Sunday, February the 3rd at 4pm. All the programs were shot in front of a live studio audience at Plush Design Lab in Fullerton, California. It will feature not only performance footage, but also brief interviews with each performer, giving you a deeper insight into the songs and writing styles of each artist. I feel very, very honored indeed to be included on such a great program. Check it out.

Here's to a better New Year for us all. We deserve it by now. Take care...

Hau, mitakuye oyasin.

Chris
