good morning Mom, Pia, Cameron (I'll try for better punctuation this time), Scappoosians, and Paul...thanks for checking in, and if you are reading this and you are not one of those people well holy hell...welcome aboard!!
So I'm sitting the lobby of this swanky hotel right now in Grenaa Denmark with some crazy Danish dude leaning over my shoulder probably trying to figure out how much longer I'll be, or why I am wearing my pajamas with my cowboy boots (couldn't find my sandals) or a combination of both. We got into town yesterday after wildly bouncing around the danish Countryside for the last week or so. After the Gottingen shows (thanks again to Nadine and the gang!!) we headed up and stopped for one more show in Flesburg before heading back up into Denmark for the next 10 days. We had to go meet up with the girls in Copenhagen despite the fact that our Friday night show there was canceled due to double booking, but hey we still got paid and we got rooms so oh well! In order to get from northern germany to Copenhagen we had 2 options: the ferry, or the worlds most ridiculous bridge. The bridge was about 2 hours shorter so we opted for the bridge. Ok let me first start by re-iterating the fact that I am a firm believer that cars and water do not belong anywhere near each other. I lived in the bay area for quite some time so bridges dont really scare me, but I've never actually felt at ease on one, especially this crazy monstrosity that crosses a Sea and is 11 miles in length. Kind of freaky but really cool as well...really cool that is until we reached the other side and discovered that to cross each way it costs the equivalent of 52 dollars (sorry i was gonna put the dollar sign instead of writing that but they dont have one hear) Yeah thats right EACH WAY!!! So as long as I live I promise I will never ever never ever bitch about the 5 dollar tolls in the Bay Area and I will not it tolerate from anyone else either so zip it Marinites! Had a blast in Copenhagen and went to Ice Bar ( a bar made completely of Ice...duh!) and had a drink. Really neat place, and only a few in the world. If you ever go to one with three people from Southern Arizona, don't plan on staying very long. After that we all went out to a blues bar where I met some crazy guy who kept pulling posters of blues musicians out of his coat and although he claimed to speak English I could not understand a word he was saying...not a word that is other than the F-bombs he was dropping every few words. Actually it was quite amazing becasue he had absolutely no grasp on the English language as a whole however he used the F-word like a real professional. Seriously he used it as an adjective, a noun, an adverb, you name it, this guy wrote the book on dropping them and when it came time to say farewell...he had no idea how to say that so he just looked at me puzzled for a second and said "well f-ing shit then" and smiled and waved goodbye. Saturday we left Amy and Pandy and rolled up to Hillerod and played a pretty fun gig till late!! Its wierd I didnt realize how far north we where until that night. It was still light at 10pm when I was setting up then at 3am when we were driving back to the hotel the sun was coming up. Wierd. So off to meet up with the girls again in Aalborg on the otherside of the country, back over the bridge (52, 52, 52, 52 damn it) and then our directions go flying out the window and all of a sudden were are stuck in the middle of Denmark having no idea where to go. Mary was able to fire off a text to Kevin, our booking agent and personal road savior, who responded with in minutes (at 4 am his time) with the address and saved the day. So we arrive at Bingo television program in Aalborg to tape one song each for upcoming episodes. It was bizarre. It was cool. It was very colorfull. I have no idea what the bingo television program is, but you can bet your ass I'll be posting the video as soon as it airs. thats all i have to say about that...truly beyond words.
so hey check out this letter øøøøø isn't it cool? I have no idea what it means or how to say it but I love it...almost as much as this one æææææææææ. If we ( Americans) really want our children to take an intereste in learning good computer skills we should definitely put some cool stuff like that on the keyboard ÅÅÅÅÅÅ
Ok this guy is now actually tapping his foot and whistling, I should probably get going. Three more shows to go, thanks ya'll for tuning in. I'll be sure and throw in one last update on Sunday before heading back.
Till then ÆÆØÅÅØÆÅÅØØÆÅÅÆÆ
peace
