Die vorliegende CD löscht einen weißen Fleck auf meiner persönlichen Metal-Landkarte, denn mit Avathar habe ich das erste musikalische Produkt aus diesem südamerikanischen Land vor mir liegen. „Venezuelan Heavy Metal" enthält acht Tracks und ist eine Zusammenfassung des Schaffens dieser 2003 in Ciudad Ojeda gegründeten Band. „Abatido" eröffnet die (inoffizielle) Scheibe sehr melodiös. Die Musik geht als melodischer, leicht progressiver Hard Rock mit vielen Einflüssen der 80er und 90er Jahre durch. Die Instrumente immer leicht verspielt, der (spanische) Gesang gut. Das folgende „Que Fue Lo Que Paso" ist eine balladeske Nummer. Beide Stücke sind Pre-Produktionen für ein für 2007 angekündigtes Album. Wenn die Produktion noch einen ganz kleinen Tick besser wird, dann darf mit einer Scheibe im guten 7er-Bereich gerechnet werden. Mit „Buscando Un Lugar" („Searching For A Place") folgt eine Nummer aus 2004, die etwas härter als das neuere Material ist. Der Song überzeugt mit einer tollen Melodie und driving guitars. Leider müssen hier mehr Abstriche bei der Produktion gemacht werden. Ich hoffe, dass die Truppe dieses Stück für das erste offizielle Album neu einspielt. Die Stücke 4 bis 8 sind Material vom 2003er Demo „Entre El Cielo Y El Mar" („Between Heaven & Sea"), bei denen die Produktion nochmals etwas schlapper wird. Musikalisch aber insgesamt eindeutig härter als die zwei Teststücke neueren Datums. Man darf gespannt sein auf das komplette Album. http://www.avathar.tk ; http://www.myspace.com/avatharweb

"- This cd is my first metal cd from a Southamerican country. "Venezuelan Heavy Metal" includes 8 tracks and is the summary of the work from Avathar, a band that was established in Ojeda.
"Abatido" is the first track and it's very melodic. It reminds me of the progressive Hard Rock of the 80s and 90s. The instruments are very playful and the Spanish singing is good. The next track is "Que Fue Lo Que Paso" which is a ballad. Both tracks are a pre-production for a cd that was announced in 2003. If the production would be a bit better you can say the cd is in a good 7 field "Buscando Un Lugar" is a song from 2004 and it's harder than the new material. The song convinced with a great melody and driving guitars. The problem is the production. I hope that Avathar plays the song again for the new cd.
The tracks 4 to 8 are songs of the demo "Entre El Cielo Y El Mar" of 2003. These tracks are definetely harder than the new ones.
